Not worth it

Tricky to get to, small uncomfortable bed, very dirty, bottled water seen to have been bottled manually (didn't touch it, it had bits inside). Description mentioned 18 pools, we only saw one. Very poorly sound proofed. Not cheap (especially food). Pretty scenery all around.

Far from the madding crowd!

It was definitely worth the 3 hour drive from Colombo airport after a long journey to arrive at this wonderful hotel. I made the decision deliberately not to stay at a closer, higher star hotel but to find somewhere where we felt we had arrived properly in Sri Lanka. Our hosts were immediately welcoming and charming, although we arrived very late. Our driver had telephoned ahead and we had sandwiches and chips and beer waiting for our arrival. The children loved climbing up to their upper floor and we slept extremely comfortably in the super kingsize bed downstairs. The bathroom was enormous and clean. Waking in the morning was such a joy - looking out into the jungle and at the river was so much better than walking through a busy hotel lobby. We opted for the local breakfast and had a feast of 3 different curries and string hoppers - sweet and savoury. Our driver and guide were also very appreciative of their accommodation. Wonderful.
