Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort

8/10 Good

"Room was nice and clean. Staff were helpful. Shops nearby were nice. Breakfast and dinner were great at the Rainbow Lanai restaurant. Was very crowded like reviewers state, especially once the conference started. Beach was crowded and have to pay to rent the loungers and the umbrellas at the beach. No umbrellas for shade at the paradise pool and scarce at the super pool. Stayed in the Tapa tower. Tower is split, floors 2-19 are one set of 4 elevators and floors 20-34 are another set of 4 elevators. 2 elevators were constantly down on both sides of the tower. Waited 12 min for an elevator because it was so crowded. Restaurants close early with the last place to eat closed at 9. Beyond that you’re relying on abc store and market store. Only entertainment on site was live music at the tapa bar in the evening. Parking, although convenient in the Hilton garage, is open to the public for the daily rate. Possibility to not have a parking spot, especially since they are tight and people park across 2 since a lot are compact. Staff said to park in a valet spot if the garage is full for the same daily self park rate. Self daily park rate was $72. Nearby for about a 7-8 min walk is another parking garage that have monthly pass you can buy for $238. Worth it if staying more than 4 nights here. Check in at 4 is a mess, unnecessarily long wait times. Easy 40-60 people in line. Property seems in the heart of downtown, traffic is congested all the time. Too many unnecessary speed bump"

"The interior of the hotel is beautiful but it seems the outside is a little dated. It looked like they were doing maintenance while we were there so hopefully that will be fixed! There were so many amenities on site as well as shopping and dining within walking distance so we never had to drive which was a plus. The beach was about a 5 minute walk from the property but has some rocky areas so bring water shoes. Overall a great stay, mahalo Ilikai!"
