"Das Hotel hat eine tolle Lage, genau neben Alnwick Castle. Im Zimmer lagen Bücher mit der Geschichte des Schlosses, die man lesen konnte und sehr interessant waren. Das Frühstück war gut und reichhaltig."

Very atmospheric place bang in the middle of the town great access on foot to all amenities. A 10 minute stroll to the Castle and the excellent car park. Breakfast was first class value. "Room was much better than I expected. It’s been updated recently. Carpet in rooms is still dated. Unfortunately the bar was closed for renovations so we couldn’t experience the full value of staying over a pub. We were notified ahead of time."

"The pictures on the site do not represent the reality of this hotel. It’s currently very run down and in need of lots of work. We stayed for 3 nights, we only had 3 towels and although we asked for more twice, were not given any and they weren’t changed during our stay. The bathroom looked new but unfinished. There was nowhere to put shampoo etc. in the shower, the floor was slippy (I bought a rubber mat for them) the toilet flush was dodgy and neither the fan or light above the mirror worked....

"Kitchen was unfortunately closed as the inn recently changed plans, so we had to venture out. We had no hot water for showers when we arrived, but the new assistant manager promptly got to work getting it sorted out so we could enjoy a hot shower before bed. Bed was comfy, room and washrooms clean. Parking on site was great."

"Lovely full English breakfast plus cereals, toast, fruit and yogurts if you want. The food was good quality and tasty both at breakfast and our meal in the bar the previous evening. The room was clean, the shower was hot and quite powerful, the beds were comfortable. Plenty of parking too. Would definitely look to stay here again if in the area"

"You have to walk on the road to get to reception from the car park as there was a sign saying staff only from the covered area to the bar . check in is at the bar ,no dedicated reception . The room we were allocated was not the room booked on the web site but it was only one night so not worth bothering about ,however the bathroom door needs attention as my wife was unable to close it until I told her how to do it ( I am a joiner and the hinges need the screws tightened up but this Will be...
