"I stayed for 4 nights towards the end of July. Common areas are very impressive. Breakfast is pretty good - food items often running out though and you only get coffee out of flasks rather than a machine so not much variety. Gymn was small for the number of people using it. Car parking is ridiculously overpriced. But room was comfy and great staff so overall decent."

"Such a lovely guest house, the interiors were absolutely beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, featuring classic period furniture. The bed was very cosy. The bathroom was perfect. The shower was spacious with excellent water pressure. Tasty cooked breakfast. Location was great, about a 20 min walk in to York City Centre. Highly recommend."

"Great location and at a reasonable price, just a short walk from the city centre with the added bonus of free parking. Spacious room and bathroom but if you did want to watch tv, this was miniscule. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very nice. The staff here were so friendly and helpful especially on reception. Would certainly return."

The only downside was that we looked for hotels with air con, due to the heatwaves. This hotel advertises as with air con. BUT THE AIR CON IS NOT IN THE GUEST ROOMS! The air con is only in the gym, restaurant and reception areas. There are fans in each room and windows that open a fraction, but no air con to cool the rooms. It made the trip less than comfortable because of...
