"Angel Inn is close to the centre of Petworth, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a large modern bath and separate shower and everything was very clean. We appreciated the teapot in the room and selection of teas, also the complimentary flapjack. We ate in the restaurant area of the inn and had an excellent meal. "

"A great friendly and warm place to stay. A basic menu but done EXCEPTIONALLY well. The pie , chips and peas (with copious) amounts of gravy was just gorgeous. A lovely, well kept pint or two, of real ale were also enjoyed. I'd have to say for room 19 , a new mattress is required. The next morning, a GOOD QUALITY English breakfast was consumed with great gusto too. I'd highly recommend!!"

"We paid for a suite - from the photos - we were expecting a roll top bath in the room. What we got was a small bath in a mouldy shower room with a couple of plastic cups, a capsule of long life milk and a mattress that probably predated the hotel. Staff were kind and friendly but clearly exhausted. The hotel room price did not represent good value for money - it’s possible we bought during a busy season. If the room had cost £80-90, I wouldn’t have taken the time to be critical. I don’t...

"Room was TINY. Smelt of toilets and woken by multiple church bells at 5 am. No staff at breakfast time. Cereal and toast. Wouldn’t stay here again. Not worth the money."
