"Hung up in unbelievable traffic in Santa Cruz, I was not able to check into the hotel until 7 AM the next day when they reopened. So I don't have the overnight experience one expects. That said, the room was very clean, the shower had good hot water, and I did get a morning nap on the bed. Fort7nately, it is off the road a bit. But noise carries and young Costa Ricans love their motorcycles. So if you are super noise sensitive that might bother you, but the traffic is really light on that...

"Our stay at Hotel Amira was beyond expectations and exceptional. The location and the staff, especially the hotel manager, went above and beyond to make our stay more than comfortable. The location was great. Several choices of restaurants nearby and close to beaches. Having stayed at many places in Costa Rica I would highly recommend Hotel Amira as a great place to stay."

"Was a bit disappointed with our stay here. I’d read that the rooms were a bit dated, but it was rundown in aspects as well. The window in our bathroom had a broken hinge, the towels were old and tattered, the faucet discoloured, but the worst part was the bugs in the room. There was an ant (?) infestation - they’d burrowed a few holes into the bathroom doorframe and they were coming in and out of them and we found them in various places around the room. "Absolutely loved our stay here! Staff are beyond kind. Property is beautiful and natural. Rooms are large and contain everything you need. Samara is beautiful and offers a wide range of activities to do off the resort. Such as side by side rides, horseback riding, day excursions, scuba diving, and lots more! We planned a lot of them at the excursion desk upfront with Luis, he was wonderful. At the front desk of the hotel Diego, Donovan and Josue always were there to help with any and everything....

"The property is advertised on Expedia as having direct access to the beach, but upon checking in we found out that there are two sister properties one being on the beach and the other one several blocks away from the ocean and with no beach view. We were also advised on check-in that the two bedroom apartments we booked are only available in the property which is remote from the beach. None of this was mentioned upon reservation. "Pool was great with plenty of places to relax. The property was beautiful and well kept. The lady that received us was very friendly and informative. They also have chairs and umbrellas that they allow people to take to the beach. The room was beautiful but the bathroom area had a smell of urine for some reason. The other downside was that the lady working when we arrived said the breakfast was $8 American dollars each, but we were charged 8000 colons by the man who was there at checkout. When I...

"Family of 4 (kids 12 and 12). We had a great time, great vibe and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the food (smaller selection but different themes and items everything). Wait staff and bartenders and front desk very helpful. Our room had some things like poor water pressure, one shower was cold. Some ants I. One of the room but they kept to themselves on the wall and didn’t bother us too much. Amazing sunsets and beautiful view. Jigged into town via beach in 20 minutes…walk in 45 minutes....

"Blue Iguana in Costa Rica was such a nice surprise. The location’s perfect—close to the action, but still relaxed. Staff were really warm and helpful, always smiling and welcoming. "We had a wonderful time in Viilla #8. The staff were friendly, the property was well kept, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed to be able to cook in the villa.
