"I stayed for one night whilst travelling for a mixture of business and pleasure. It had been a long hot day so it was a pleasure to step into the cool of this lovely old inn. The welcome was warm and friendly and in fact I think the friendliness of the staff is my standout reason to stay. "The shepherd huts are almost new and very well equipped, much larger than expected with quality fittings and underfloor heating. Lovely wooden worktops. The bed is a little high for some but fine for us. There are steps up, which you would expect. The outer hut areas have yet to see any grass, unlike a general area with oicnic benches that are grassed. Overall excellent value. "
