The hotel has a spectacular position overlooking the river and historical centre of Porto. Service was excellent and not overbearing. Breakfast and dining generally were high quality. The outside pool area is lovely. You can walk down to the river direct from the hotel, where there are a lot of bars and restaurants - it is however quite a steep path, so perhaps not suitable for all. Thoroughly recommended.

The hotel is amongst the best we've stayed in. The room is comfortable with great views over the gardens. The food is good, but what makes the hotel outstanding is the service from the staff. They are very friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble and you are always greeted with a smile. The hotel has a unique thermal pool with a constant 35-40oC temperature. The hotel provide robes and towels to use at the pool, which is just as well as the iron rich water stains everything...

A tasteful blend of contemporary and traditional buildings, with our superior block room worth the extra money - larger and with a much better quality lounging area outside the patio doors. A nice, personal sized hotel as a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World group. Breakfast was intimate, uncrowded and orders of hot food came in seconds. The gardens are immaculate and there were ample staff everywhere throughout our stay attending both to maintaining the internal and external ambiance....

We have just returned from a very pleasant stay at this lovely hotel. The staff were excellent, very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and catered for a lot of tastes. The hotel was very well located for an easy walk into the old town. Plenty of nice restaurants to try nearby. We would not hesitate to recommend the Pousada de Viseu and hope to return ourselves one day.

We stayed at the Episode Sana for 4 nights. We went to relax and whine down, so the location was a perfect spot for us. If you want to. E by the hustle and bustle, 'subs this is not the hotel for you. The interior is amazing. The food is nice. We had spa treatments, which were great. They really do look after you. Stylish spa hotel, with great accommodation and beautifully manicured gardens. Even has its own man made beach in the grounds in addition to the pool area. Plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. Fantastic setting, built into the cliff face. Probably the best views in the whole of The Algarve! Wonderful rooms with extraordinary views out over the sea. Amazing breakfasts, great food and drink during the day. Great staff who treat you like one of the family.

Recommended for sport lovers that like to spend their time engaging in sports, enjoy an old style small hotel with excellent service. Average guest age fairly high - comfortable hotel around 25 min from Funchal.

Nice hotel located right in the center, good breakfast, comfort and nice view on the public garden and the memorial.Quiet but in Prahca Vehla there can be concerts disturbing until 10:30 pm.
