"The Hood Arms is a pub with rooms, which is owned and run by people committed to keeping it in the community. The staff are all welcoming and work hard to give good service. The food is delicious and well-cooked, using ingredients from local suppliers, and the portions are large. The restaurant is popular with locals and visitors. The bedroom was spacious and charming, along with creaky floors and eccentric plumbing. The Hood is on a busy A-road, which didn't bother us but there are rooms overlooking the garden at the back. We would recommend a stay at the Hood Arms for anyone who likes a bit of character instead of a bland chain hotel."

"This is a really nice hotel in a great location if you want to be in the centre of Lynmouth. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We ate a couple of times in the Ancient Mariner, which is attached to the hotel - very good pub food. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent - if you like a full english, you are in for a treat."

"Good pub with a few rooms, which are a decent size and modern, plenty of off road parking and excellent pub style food served until about 9pm. Wi-Fi worked well and staff friendly and efficient. Morning check out 11am which is better than most establishments if you’re not in a rush to get away. It would be my first choice when travelling in the area as just off the M5."

"The Green Dragon is very central in Wellington. Useful for us to explore the footpaths in the Wellington Basin & surrounding areas. Our room with a modern en-suite was very clean especially for an older building. The staff were extremely helpful & friendly. Parking was easy to drop off the luggage but a limited time only. It wasn’t a problem because the public car park was nearby & not very expensive for a whole day. The locals liked the bar but we weren’t drinking so we didn’t use."

"Near to the station (& the High Street is almost on your doorstep). Great town & hotel is in easy reach of various attractions (maybe a lick of paint in the room wouldn’t hurt, but beds comfy). We went to a day festival at Vivary Park, which is a 15-20 min walk. It did rain, but everything dried out in our room overnight (Room 40 is above the Boiler Room). We used a fan & opened window. Staff kindly stored our luggage, when we went to lunch before catching a train home. They don’t do food, but loads of places nearby. Plus the staff are lovely & so helpful."
