The room was horrible air conditioners did not work at all. They came up eight times to fix my air condition and never work, and never thought about putting me in a different room.

I paid for 2 rooms before I arrived at the property just to avoid any hassle. When I checked in, I was told there were no room available. Two minutes later, the guy came and Said he just noticed that someone check out two hours ago and the rooms should be clean and ready. I got my room keys, went upstairs to my room just to find the room in a total mess. There were the sheets wrapped up on the bed, the floor was wet and dirty Towels on the floor. I then had to go back downstairs (Staying on the third floor) The elevator is not working so I had to use the stairs, Where I told the receptionist that the room was dirty. Who then told me that I would have to wait 1 and half hours for the room to be cleaned. I had no other option but to wait. After he came back and said the room was ready, I went back to the room. There were no towels or toilet paper. I had to again leave from the 3rd floor and go back downstairs and told him that there is no towels and there is no toilet paper in the room. They then gave me two towels one roll of toilet paper and I informed them that the room I booked, was 4 of us stating in. My wife, my 2 kids and I so I would need 2 additional towels. They said I can only get 2 towels still. I had to leave Hotel to purchase two towels, because we do not share towels at home. I got back went to use the bathroom on the toilet and the toilet seat caved in with me. I have pictures of how the room was when I arrived, and I also have pictures of the toilet.

The place is just fine for the money, in a quiet area, nice parking, used to be very nice for sure - but now needs a bit off renovations, the linen is well worn out, towels are old, the ceiling needs attention, but ac worked, there was hot water and overall the place is clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. There is a restaurant on site too. We didn’t use the pool but it was open and looked usable:) overall a good option for small budget!

The stay never happened. When we arrived, we were told they had no room. When we showed our reservation with proof of payment, they said they wouldn’t honor the reservation and we needed to get a refund from Expedia. They claimed their system is not updated , hence why it showed they had available rooms on Expedia. Terrible staff with bad attitudes.

We weren’t able to ask for extra towels after the pool so we had to shower with the wet ones. The internet connection is non existent. No do not disturb sign so room service comes into your room while you sleep. The bathroom has no floor mat and we had bugs in our bathroom. The pool was nice. Hotel is not good for a vacation stay but for just a quick check in and out.

We didn’t get to stay at the hotel, their rooms were not secured- our room window which was almost the size of the door could not lock! There was no wifi for us to stay connected with family & friends plus the staff had us in circles before even attempting to address us. The pool water was very dirty looking and no flowing water. I will attach photos. Their television was unusable because there was no internet and it was a tv from the Stone Age.

Its a humble hotel, great for locals whom are looking for a night stay. But not what my family was looking for in a family location. Very clean just muggy due to the humidity.

The service was poor, the pool was out of service the whole time i was there, the room needed upliftment i was very disappointed with Hotel Principe will not stay there anymore and will not recommend this place to anyone.

The room was not properly cleaned. The bathroom door had stains, the bathing curtains had stains, the sheets were stained. There was no blankets or comforter. The pool was not usable the entire weekend. Asked for toilet paper and was told we can’t get any until they come clean the room. Horrible experience

The staff here truly made my stay a dream. If you stay here, I'm positive you will get lucky with kindness & compassion as well. The place is also comfortable, super chill and very pleasurable, as a whole! :)

i like the settings of the building but not the location because it was ghetto area its not a good area for tourist .And to put iceing on the cake i was charge by orbitz and hotel principe and still havent got my money back

They have nice rooms good A/C . But the swimming pool isn't to good i have been to this place twice and both times i get sick from being in the swimming pool, this last time even one of our children got sick from that pool

The only good review I can say is the pool is clean and parking availability is good. Few of the staff were bothered by us asking not for towels (even though they were the ones who didn’t place any towels in the room). The bed covering were itchy and not sufficient for the AC. The AC even at the lowest was too cold. It was either you bare the cold or bare the heat. We had to be constantly switching off and on. The AC kept dripping and left a stain mark when it landed. The pillows were hard as sand bags. The bathroom was too close to the room, so it wet the outside since they didn’t have any bath mats/ floor towels. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Avoid Chetumal for a night stay
If you are on a budget, this is a good choice but the hotel is outdated with older feeling. Clean and comfortable but below expectations. Good parking for the car. Chetumal was too far out of the way from my way to Villahermosa from Cancun. If you are passing through, is better to look for a hotel along the road and not stay in Chetumal. Not a very good town and the bay is kind of dirty

Decent place for a great price
Upon my arrival, I was upgraded to an Executive suite. The staff is very nice. The place is ok, nothing fancy, good to stay if you are on a budget. Not the best but not the worse. Wifi works great and there is lots of hot water :)

It’s a “just ok” hotel
To be honest I didn’t expect mucho more for what we paid for and the fact that it was a last minute booking, that said if you’re coming to the area for tourism there are much better options, Chetumal itself it’s an ok town but the area has a lot to offer if you can drive.

The property is one of the oldest hotels in town. It is in the middle of town and a short taxi ride to anywhere. The rooms are clean and the hotel is cheap. If i wanted a great hotel then i would spend all my time there but since i only need a room to sleep because all of my interests are away from the hotel then this place does the job. The people are great and i had a great time to talking to them. Very helpful staff. Thanks guys.

Bad Service No Wifi the Pool was closed
The wifi did not work and was told the pool was off limits. The staff were not friendly and even overcharged on taxes for the room stay. Would never recommend staying here and I will not be booking this hotel again.

Hotel has maintenance issues
We’ve stayed at this hotel numberous times and their facilities seem to be depreciating more and more every time we visit. For our last two visits, we’ve had to request change of rooms due to plumbing, a/c and cleanliness issues. During our most recent visit, we were giving a room with a very load AC, a toilet the couldn’t flush and observed human hair on the pillows. We were given a second room that had sheets with yellow stains and a shower that could use some cleaning. We were very satisfied with this hotel when we first started staying there but they seem to be getting worse with each visit. The front desk area also needs to be made more attractive as it appeared messy and the receptionist, while very nice, did not seem organized. He did not immediately acknowledge our presence when we walked up to the front desk as he was busy speaking to another employee.

It was good. The bad thin was that they said hotels.com didn't charge for it. So I paid at the hotel with my credit card. When I cheked the account statement I found out that I paid twice, one to hotels.com and to the hotel too

Not too happy with the receptionist.
not too happy because the receptionist charged me additional for one person when I had already booked through Hoteles.com. I booked the hotel for three rooms, each room for two adults and one child.and in one room I had my son and two nephews staying. my son is 18, my other nephews are 17 and 14, and she still charged me for my nephew who is 14 saying that once they are 12 up they are considered adults. that is nonsence because when I booked through Hotyeles.com it did not appear that children over twelve are adults, it appears that children 17 and under are children. Dissappointerd on that.
