We had a great room in newer area on top floor looking over the ocean. Everything was clean. Pillows were excellent. lol. The restaurant / bar wasn’t very good. Too expensive compared to what u could get elsewhere. Service was not very good there & it was not even busy . (Restaurant only )The three pools were amazing !! We would go back! Short walk to town.

Check-In was a bit slow and the lady looked a bit disorganized. I guess my expectations are high but I thought the mastery of English would be a little better than it was considering it's a tourist town. We had quite a bit of trouble with our safe and also the door key. Response to our complaints was pretty good Now on the positive side. The hotel, rooms and grounds were very clean and the staff was very friendly. The 3 pools were very very nice and I saw them clean them everyday. Only one restaurant but it was good and on the ocean front. There is an Oxo store about a quarter of a block away. Great for picking up snacks, pop, alcohol, and just about anything you need. The beach had a few rocks but it was still nice. I would go back in a heartbeat.

I would stay here again. Nice staff, great pools and water slide, daily room service, and quiet while we were here. It’s starting to show some signs of wear but nothing major.

Loved the pools. They were always clean and heated. Lots of chair options both around the pools and on the beach. Sun or shade, whatever you wanted. The staff was helpful and friendly. I stayed in a suite with a kitchen. Basic appointment but enough to make meals. Bed was comfortable and there was plenty of closet space to unpack. Gorgeous view from my balcony to the Bay. Good proximity of the hotel to the Golden Zone. Very walkable. Room had a fan and air conditioning for the really hot days. Would recommend Los Picos.

We stayed at the 6person suite with the “tobogán” pool view. The room was terrible. Both of the showers that were in the suite were really old so the shower heads on both were spilling water all over the bathroom. The air conditioning unit (mini split) in both rooms were moldy. One of them didn’t turn on and the other one was spilling water onto the bed and pillows when turned on. In the kitchen, the faucet was very old so the water would come out at an angle and not straight down like normal. There was also a significant leak under the sink when we would open the faucet so there was always a big puddle of water on the floor by the sink. The fridge would tilt when we opened it and it was scary because it felt like it was going to fall over every time. There are no blackout shades in the living room, so people can see inside the living room area when walking by. Our biggest concern was the moldy smell and malfunctioning air conditioning units. We asked for a different room and the staff said that all of the suites were the same. We went to look at another suite and it was worse than ours. I would not return to the hotel if the rooms are dilapidated. The pools and beach were very nice. The towel service was terrible. Staff said they were open from 10-6 for towel service and I went several times during that time frame and they were closed.

Great view from our room in the new building and it was excellent to have 4 distinct Pool/Beach areas to choose from each day. It was unfortunate that our Balcony was shared with neighbors so there was no privacy out there. We would definitely stay here again.

Only real problem was our room. When we checked in there was water on the bathroom floor which is pretty slippery on tile floors. I tracked it to a drip coming from bathroom sink. I complained about it, a maintenance guy came spent a few minutes and said all fixed. It wasn’t. Luckily I had I frisbee which I put under the sink and it caught most of the water. Next day I told them it wasn’t fixed, showed the guy where the water was coming from and he said he could not fix it. They offered another room which was down a dark corridor with only a 2ft x 2ft window. We turned it down and counted on the frisbee. Also the door to the room was sliding patio door. The locking mechanism would tak up to a minute at times to get in. We had 2 keys and staff asked for our key to get in because theirs didn’t work. It wasn’t the key, it was the lock. Toilet had trouble flushing even small duces sometimes, not to mention the chain falling off. Something I could fix but left it for them along with a nice surprise. Not my job to fix the toilet. The rest of the property was fine including communal washrooms throughout the property, clean and reasonably modern.

Our room was a studio suite on 3rd floor. Our air conditioner was dropping such much water that there was a small pool on the floor. On the third time to try to have it fixed, we finally agreed with the maintenance guy to shut it down and not use it. The kitchen area, stove top (greasy)and appliances blender and coffee machine were NOT clean. Had to leave a note for housekeeping. The bed was comfortable but there should be night tables and lamps instead having to use overhead lights. We had to share our balcony with the next room. Luckily it was not a smoker or a loud person. However the person on the other side of the wall, their smoke was not pleasant. The location of Los Picos and price per night was very good. We would definitely return.

Was shocked to see that we had to share our balcony with the room next to us. This wasn’t ideal and ruined our trip as we had little children next to us running all over the place on our side of the balcony

Nice and quiet (about 20 min walk to the action in town). Beautifully maintained pool areas - there are 3 (one by the ocean across the street by the restaurant). We had 6th floor deluxe suite (worth the upgrade) - view was stunning!

The pool and beach area were excellent. We had problem the first couple of days with noisy people next room to us but after we complained we were moved to a new room and had no more problem.

I was disappointed at our room, compared to what was shown on Expedia’s website. The cost in Cdn when the room was booked was $135.00 Cdn, actual cost $198.00 Cdn. The room was extremely small, no fridge, no coffee maker. However it did have a safe… The staff at the front desk were somewhat helpful….. The restaurant was very good and staff at the restaurant went above and beyond
