  • #Trovember Round barn at Hancock Shaker Village. I've been wanting to explore here since visiting the Shaker Village in Canterbury, NH also the one in Sabbathday Lakes, Maine. The history, culture and Shaker way of life is so interesting and appealing in its simplicity. We visited in April and were excited to meet and0wt the newly born farm animals. We took a tour to hear about daily life in a Shaker Village and then enjoyed a walking trail through woods and meadow and finished off with some delicious ice cream. "Tis a Gift to be Simple, 'Tis a Gift to be Free..." and it's a gift to explore this well-preserved living history museum!

Beautiful Mountain Home !!

Mona is a great hostess she was on the phone checking with us about our food habits and arrival time prior to start date. She was very kind to organize breakfast for guests and made sure to sit and chat with us. Great location and highly recommended.

Super hospitality in an idyllic setting

We had an amazing get-away. Our host, Mona, thinks of everything, including a call a few days before our trip to introduce herself, see how she could be helpful, and recommend restaurants and events. We were so happy we made the two dinner reservations we placed as a result of her call. Upon arrival, Mona greeted us with a warm welcome and personally led us to our room, which was beautiful, clean, relaxing, and seems to have been recently renovated. The home-cooked breakfasts that she and her friendly assistant, Linda, provided were sumptuous. We ate breakfast outside on the deck each morning, amid vases and boxes of gorgeous flowers, hummingbirds, and sunshine, trees, and greenery. It was serene and quiet! The property includes walking paths, wild flowers, and a large pond. We also walked a bit of the Corkscrew Trail, which is an extension of the Mountain House’s walking paths. We were busy every day in Williamstown, Lenox, Beckett, and Stockbridge—all so convenient to the Berkshire Mountain House. Mona really cares about her guests. The place is wonderful. When can we return?

The house is tucked away up on a mountain, so is very private and quiet. The views from the side we stayed on were beautiful. The owner, Mona, is very friendly and makes breakfast daily. Make sure to try the maple oatmeal. It feels very much like a second home there.

Fall getaway

We stayed at the Berkshire Mt. House in order to attend a football game at nearby Williams College. The setting is gorgeous and should be even prettier when the leaves are at there peak! This is a great place for hikers as it sits on the Corkscrew Rail Trail. Mona is a great hostess and catered to my gluten-free, dairy-free diet!
