The Lord Nelson is a diamond in the rough. When we first walked into what I would have to say was "a real pub" with all the smells, decor and ambience of a very old well-established location, my first thought was, "What have I gotten us into?' Thank goodness there was a strong young man who carried our luggage to the 4th floor (no elevators); it was up carpeted stairs that had seen better days. Hot, muggy and musty. Then the door was opened to our room. I think my jaw dropped. Air conditioned, 4 piece bath, king bed, chairs, an extra lounge. There were 4 dormer windows with cushioned seats. What character! It was a most comfortable and inviting room. A pearl in an oyster.
Staff could not have been more helpful and a bar to round out the amenities.
Would definitely recommend this hotel!
