Thank you for staying with us and for the review, Ricardo. Sadly, our costs have spiralled and not in our control. Having said that, on my last visit to the UK two years ago, I stayed in a few hotels, none of them were cheaper than the Welbeck is now and their standards lacked quality in both service and the rooms.

Hi Sharon,Thank you for your positive comments.We, like the rest of the world at the moment (or so it seems), are struggling for staff. We are all trying to muddle in whilst navigating the running of the rest of the hotel. As you may know, we are only a small, family-run business, my Dad's not had a day off since April as he wants to be able to give guests the standard of breakfast he would expect- but also because there is no one else to do it.Unfortunately that means he cannot do every evening either, leaving our small, but brilliant kitchen team to it. We have mainly received positive feedback.I am curious to know whether you asked about bananas. Whenever anything is pointed out to us, we do our utmost to make sure that we can meet their requirements, however we are only human.You are right, however some of us do not have a choice in whether we show up, so we truly value and appreciate those who make up our hard working, conscientious team.Best wishes.

Dear SarahThank you for taking time to review the Welbeck and for your mainly positive comments.We're sorry the apartment wasn't configured exactly as you wanted it but we would have changed it to your requirements for your second and third night, had you asked. Likewise, the lamps. There are occasions when we do miss things as since the pandemic it has become very difficult to recruit staff, so I apologise if you had to repeat your request. For anyone else reading, I would like point out that the mouldy ceiling in question is in the external lift shaft (ironically the newest part of the building!) where we've had some problems with water ingress where it abuts the fire escape..Isle of Man tap water is among the best in the world, so I can only imagine that you are not used to such soft (Lime free,) water.Yes,the hotel is next to a wood, so there may be the odd spider that gets in now and again.

We like to purchase it on request to save waste and also storage space.I do feel that our continental breakfast is sufficient, but I will note your comments.We look forward to seeing you again.

Dear Ajay,Thank you for your review of the Welbeck. It was a pleasure to host you and your family, and we are glad you enjoyed your stay.We are getting to the stage now where we have used most of our shampoo/shower gel stock, and in a bid to reduce the use single use plastics, we will eventually stop putting them in the rooms.
