I stayed for one night to try snowboarding the next morning for the first time, I was very surprised by how helpful and friendly the staff was and there is a public bath at a walkable distance. The hotel is charming and retro, established in the 1970s and it has very lovely details in the decoration to enjoy

We had a great experience at Kagura White Horse Inn. The location is close to the snow park and you can rent anything you need at the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

Comfortable accommodation at the perfect location

Great accommodation, very comfortable, decent choice of food from the vending machines, good breakfast. Perfect location... 3-minute walk from the cableway up to Kagura ski resort and the bus stop from the train station. They also offer discounted ski passes (cheaper than the ski resort) and Onsen passes. Highly recommend for those looking to ski at Kagura or explore the area.

We really enjoyed staying at Kagura White Horse Inn. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It's located almost right across the road from Kagura ski resort so extremely convenient with easy bus access. If we have a minor gripe (not the fault of the lodgings), it's that the only eating place for dinner was the nearby "roadside stop" about 10-15 minutes walk away. We could have taken a taxi into town but after a day's skiing, you're usually tired and usually want to dine somewhere close and convenient. That aside, we had a very pleasant experience staying at White Horse Inn.

The hotel is located near the ski lift, which is very convenient. You can also rent your ski gear from the hotel. The continental breakfast is very good. However, the hotel is really outdated and dirty. The common areas were full of live and dead bugs, and the wifi was not accessible in the room. The room was clean though, but some bugs made their way to the room. There is only one restaurant in the town. It is a 12 minute walk from the hôtel and it closes early (6pm). Cash payment only. There is an onsen next to the restaurant, very nice.

The inn itself is great! Very clean, cozy, comfortable and well designed with many little details. Quite spacious rooms and the rest area. Some vending machines are present. Kitchen is at the guests' disposal. Coin-op laundry, ping-pong table and piano are available. Staff provides great service. Breakfast is good and well worth it since there are few dining options in the area and no convenient stores. So bringing snacks along is a good idea. There is one good dinner option - a cafe in a store and an onsen nearby, but one day (out of three I spent there) they were both closed, so keep it in mind. During the day there are also trailers around Mitsumata ropeway that serve food, drinks and deserts. Beautiful snowy mountain views and spending time in the mountains, skiing/snowboarding is the best thing!

They offered rental of snowboards and boots and staff will teach you how to use it However, they got no lift so you may need to carry your luggage yourself. Earliest check in time is 3pm which is late. The closest restaurant nearby needs a 10 mins walk and closed normally at 5:30pm.

Perfect place for ski trip

Love this friendly cozy hotel! Location is right across the street from the Mitsumata ropeway. Perfect for ski trip. The host is a friendly family who treat their guests sincerely. Family room is comfortable for four of us to set our futons for good night sleep. Down comforters kept us warm during the night. Breakfast is good with selections of bread, noodles or rice, cereal, yogurt, milk, coffee, tea, juice. They have kids play one, ping pong, and a grand piano for guest to hang out. The only downside is that there is limited selection of food (only frozen food) for dinner. Ok for a day or two. They do have a shared kitchen, fridge, and dining hall for guests to use. So bring your own groceries if you want to have freshly cooked dinner.

There are not many shops or restaurants around but that is offset by the way access to mitsumata ropeway across the road. So be prepared and bring some food from Yuzawa if you travel by bus.

Simple and cozy! This is exactly what I needed. Very nice staff and the older man speaks pretty good English. Also they all speak a little English. 3 minute walk to the Gandala. Be aware of the gandala and bus schedule plus how long it could take you to get down the mountain. This will save you a lot of time and taxi money to get back to the train station
