"My wife and I have stayed at the Cottage and Castle once before and have both times been extremely satisfied with the friendliness and helpfulness of Christina (the host) Whatever questions we have had to ask, we get immediate assistance! Our room was incredibly clean and organized, the beds were comfortable and the style was very intricate. Absolutely no problems and no negative feedback to give! Thank you for the wonderful stay! We will soon be coming back!"

"We regularly travel with a large sports team and this was our all-time favourite tournament hotel. We loved the gazebo outside for team meals and found the staff very accommodating. This is a well-designed hotel, and the proximity to picturesque Ladysmith was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend to teams traveling for tournaments in Nanaimo."

"The outside property was clean a sun well kept and the room appeared clean. I checked the bed as I was nervous about bed bugs. I did not see any bed bugs but the sheets did not look clean, hair and nails clippings? No sign of bed bugs though. The bathtub had hair in it and it could really use replacing as it is very old and worn out. There was also a dirty towel left hanging on the back of the door. The clerk was very friendly and helpful when I checked in. I do t think I would stay again."

"We simply love the Dorchester hotel and have been staying here for many years. It is close to everything, nice restaurants, the waterfront, shops etc. The staff is super helpful, the room was very clean and the Top Notch restaurant is very good! We had the best chicken burger there and the service was amazing. This hotel has atmosphere. The view on the harbour side is so lovely. You do have to be aware that float planes take off from the harbor so that side of the hotel can mean an earlier wake...

"Corridors are in need of renovations but the rooms are very nice and up to date. Breakfast not bad for a continental. Good value for the money with close proximity to Nanaimo downtown."

"Never experienced any hotel without any receptions on site plus required pre check in even with the reservation? A lot of personal and credit card information were required for online check in which is a high safety concern. After filled out all those info waited out side for 30minutes without any response plus the assistance phone number didn’t pick up until we tried 5 times. Loud AC and bad experience."

"This motel was very low end not worth the money we paid. Buyer beware. The motel is old and run down. It had a homeless camp feel to it. It came with good reviews that is why we chose it but now that I stayed there a weekend it was a huge mistake. Did not feel safe staying there."
