Great hotel, amazing for anyone wanting to enjoy a traditional japanese hotel without an extrmeely high price. The Onsen was great, indoor(large) and outdoor(small)
Wonderful ryokan / hotel with its own onsen. It was only a one night stay, wish it could have been longer. Ideal hotel to relax and unwind at. The set menu evening meal was outstanding and great value - make sure to add it for one night!
The onsen facilities at the hotel and in room bath were excellent. Recommended hotel if you’re in Yamagata.
Staff’s are friendly ,approachable they are all have beautiful smile.
The place was so clean , spaceful, amazing and peaceful .
The view was fabulous mesmerizing 😍
Food was so delicious and sumptuous.
Prize is very reasonable
Love to come here again soon
The Takinoyu Hotel was superb! It was larger than I thought and very luxurious feeling. We booked one of their more traditional rooms which was very spaceous and the view of the garden was lovely. We didn't have time to visit their baths but they looked very nice. The staff were great also, very friendly and helpful! Overall excellent hotel, would definitely stay here again!
Excellent service and a great overall experience. The room was everything you could wish for, spacious, clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast selection was delicious and they even have a spot for making onsen eggs!
Beautiful property. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Hotel personnel are courteous and friendly-everyone greets you and willing to answer any questions. The front desk was very helpful in making reservations at the restaurant we were interested in. The man who escorted us to the room spoke English and pointed out various locations in the hotel (breakfast venue, onsen, lounge). He was so pleasant and courteous. Onsen is large and very relaxing. We had a wonderful stay.
This is such a beautiful Onsen with an incredibly kind staff. We took a gamble in coming up to Tendo during our 2.5 week trip to Japan, and this stay easily became the highlight of our trip.
We stayed in the suite with a hot tub in the balcony, and the room was spacious, clean, and traditional. The breakfast had a variety of choices, and the dinner (separate charge) was delicious with locally sourced food. Give this place a try, you’ll feel refreshed after your stay!
Very please with their services. With the help at the tourist information counter, a very friendly lady, helped us to call the hotel to pick us at the station. They even service us to the station when we check out. Overall would recommend.
The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Friendly and accomodating staff.
The in door hot spring is huge and comfortable. I was able to relax to my heart's content. The outside bath is smaller but still nice.
The breakfast at the hotel is delicious. We were late to breakfast but the staff still set up a plate for us, which my family was very thankful for. Make sure to try the hot spring egg.
I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Tendo city.
The property itself is beautiful (if maybe a little dated) and the room we had was lovely. Our only disappointment was the area surrounding the property. The pictures provided through travel agencies are not accurate: this hotel is not secluded or in the mountains or even remotely close to nature. It is in the middle of an urban development, and not a particularly modern or advanced one. Still had a lovely time! Just not what we were expecting.
