"We appreciated the northwoods log cabin feel of the property, clean room, excellent breakfast, access to the hot tub/pool area, easy parking, and the charming gathering space across from the front desk, as well as on site gift shop. The staff was exceptional."

"Check in service was fairly uninviting and unfriendly. Entered our room (313) and the toilet was running. Could not get it to stop. Maintenance man was friendly, but definitely overwhelmed and overworked. Had to go to hardware store for parts, still unable to fix it (it ran all night and through our check out). He also replaced a broken bulb on tall lamp. Stains on bedspread, couch, and desk chair (which also had lots crumbs stuck on it). The final frustration and YUCK factor was one of the pillow cases had multiple “hardened” stains on it. I don’t want to guess what this may have been. Same unfriendly and unapologetic front desk staff member replaced this. In all, this was a very disappointing stay for a $200 room."

"The staff was nice at check in. We went to our room and were immediately concerned. The carpet was old looking and dirty. The bedding had crumbs of some kind on it when we pulled back the covers. The towels were folded poorly next to the sink. Just an all around unclean feel. We decided to leave even though we didn't get a refund, just for peace of mind. When we left we said we were uncomfortable and they just said ok sorry about that. Didn't asked what the concerns were at all. Checked and said we couldnt get a refund which we knew. All around bad vibe of the place."

"The staff member was really trying their best and seemed to be very short handed. The room had a plastic bag tied over and around the smoke detector on the ceiling. They had “upgraded” me from a single king to a suite with a jacuzzi, but honestly given the state of the facility I didn’t feel that jacuzzi was a health safe option. IlThe jacuzzi was in the main bedroom legit 10 inches from the bed with mirrored walls around it. Honestly gave it a sleazy feel. The door lock (the one with the bar that is supposed to act like a door chain, was broken. That would typically have been enough to cause me not to stay in the room, but I did validate that the deadbolt worked. Really the staff appeared nice, and she seemed to be really trying to make it work… But the facility is just in vast need of upgrade and repair. It definitely did not meet with the standards I was expecting for being a part of the Marriott family of hotels. In fact it did not meet with the standard. I had expected of it being a best western. Interestingly, in the front parking lot there was a truck parked that was filled not only in the back, but in the cab with garbage all the way to the ceiling, the front doors of the truck were slightly a jar, and you could see the entire truck was filled with garbage like it’s probably been there quite a while and is almost being used as a dumpster."

"Pool open until 1 am! My wife and I had a concert outside. At 1st we didn't know the hotel entrance was around back of the casino. Check in at 4 pm had a little line but moved ok. MN humor sarcasm at the front desk. I love that they can play around like that, keep things light. We liked that the room did not have a closet but a cubby area instead. Way more useful. Free fountain drinks in the casino. We would love to come back again."
