"Freshly cooked food to order, lovely staff, very clean and lovely room.
Only downside to our room was creaky floors which I presume are to do with the age of the building "

"Had a 1 night mid-week stay here & it was brilliant. From check in to leaving it was all done quickly & smoothly.
The apartment was nice, comfy & spacious. Even though its part of a pub albeit next to not above it was really quiet & didnt hear a thing from the pub itself.
The staff were really friendly & acomadating & so were the locals who frequent the pub.
Would highly recommend staying in here to anyone & i certainly would again when in the area."

"We used the Pickled Parson as a home base for a month while visiting family. The room we had for that duration of a stay was a little small, but it was comfortable, clean and made up daily. The staff were all amazing and really made us feel at home. A very relaxed atmosphere with great breakfast options. The bar was a great option to wind down at the end of the day with a night cap.

"The room ( junior suite ) was cold as the radiators were not working when we arrived. Reception was informed at about 4,00 pm but nothing improved until several houirs later. Two electric heaters were put in the room and the radiators eventually came on. The 'fault', we weere told, was the room thermostst which was located outside in the hallway (???) and somebody had turned it off. Shame that the management didn't check the room thoroughly prior to our arrival. Otherwise, great room, spectacular views. Restaurant service was fine but my wife's portion of breakfast smoked haddock was almost totally hidden by the lemon garnish it was so small. Shame really but it's the dissatisfaction which stays with you more so than the positives."
"On the whole, our experience was positive. The room was spotless, relatively recently decorated, and with fairly good amenities. We had some difficulty locating the kettle, which was in built-in wardrobe rather than next to the tea and coffee, cups etc, however those guests needing wardrobe space wouldn’t be disappointed. There was also a mini fridge.
The beds and bedding were immaculate and good quality, and there were limited toiletries provided.
Unfortunately though, I have taken off one star because of the abysmal - or should I say non-existent - customer service. I had a query regarding parking prior to actual check-in time. We knew we would be arriving earlier than 3pm so I contacted the owners to ask if it was ok to park in the morning, however received no response to messages sent through Expedia and left on their answering machine, and then once I’d found their email address on their website I sent another message asking the same question but all the response I received said was “thank you”. We parked there anyway and it wasn’t a problem.
We will definitely be staying here again though, despite the lack of customer service, as it is extremely good value for money and very conveniently located in the town, around a 10 minute walk away from the centre/ railway station."
"Absolutely amazing place to stay. Staff were super helpful, had a lovely room on the decking with outside seating. The outside is so tranquil and lots of birds, rabbits and horses roaming around. Breakfast was top notch too and portion sizes huge. An absolute must stay!"
