Ganz nett
Ich war mit 3 Freunden für 4 Nächte in dieser Pension. Die Ausstattung ist eher einfach gehalten und nicht sehr modern. Sauber ist es aber. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhalting. Jeden Tag frische spiegeleier, rühreier, baked Beans oder Full Irish Breakfast werden angeboten und auf Bestellung frisch zubereitet. Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich. Die Lage war sehr gut finde ich. Direkt am Hafen gelegen und viele Pubs in der direkten Umgebung. Der Busbahnhof war direkt vor dem Haus, wo alle fernbusse und Nahverkehr abgefahren sind. Wir haben pro Nacht 89 Euro für das Zimmer gezahlt, inklusive Frühstück. Greetings from the German Guys :-)

A very pleasant stay and a good lot of hospitable and helping people in Hotel.I would boldly recommend this place to anyone who wanted to stay at Waterford city center and with a delicious set of items for breakfast.

Very convenient B&B in Waterford city centre. I spotted it whilst driving over the bridge so didn't have to spend ages looking for it. Friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast. It is an old building but that adds character!

Don't go!
Ghastly. No window,just a grimy skylight. Sagging bed with grey linen. Grubby, torn carpets and smelly surrounds. Looked like an hourly rent establishment. we left once we'd viewed the room.

thoughtful owner and very good service
The owner, Mike, has mistaken that i have reserved 1 day but in fact it should be 2. He helped me to find another hotel, paid the difference and drove us to that hotel the next day. He is very helpful and friendly. What's more? Full breakfast is offered! Mike is so generous. Very good service, i appreciate it very much.

Nice staff but that's about all that was nice
The carpets were threadbare, the room was dusty, the door lock was fidgety, the ceilings had damp stains, the floorboards made a lot of noise, the water was cold, the phone in the room didn't work, the facilities were very basic and at least 20 years behind the times and there were other guests there who were unpleasant and possibly taking drugs

Kann man mal nehmen für eine Nacht
Das Hotel liegt fußläufig zum Bahnhof, nur über die Brücke, 5 Minuten. Zum Busbahnhof 2 Minuten. Sehr einfache Ausstattung. Der Blick durch das (einzige) Deckenfenster auf die Rückwand des Nachbarhauses war nicht besonders reizvoll. Sehr hellhörig, dünne Wände. Frühstück hätte es etwas eher geben können.

Great location and value
Our host Micheal was most accommodating and very helpful. Guesthouse was well kept, great location to town and sights. Very good value. Great Indian restaurant a couple doors down.

Hotel.com-shame on you! You did not carry thru our reservations,although we received confirmation & #. The hotel was full! We had to stay in a Hostel/Hotel, 5 blocks down the road, thanks to the manager of Ancherage house knowledge & friend. We arrived @ 10pn @ nite & I was not happy with you! The Ancherage House has a beautiful view & the manager was professional, delightful. Thanks to Hotel.com, that is ALL I can tell you about the hotel.

Budget hotel, close to city centre.
The hotel was perfectly adequate for our short stay in Waterford. Our room was reasonably comfortable and the breakfasts provided were fine. As we were at the front of the building, there was some traffic noise, but it didn't really disturb us. People moving around or talking loudly in adjoining rooms, however, sounded,at times, as if they were in with us. Parking is in a public car park, across the road, at 4 euros per 24 hours.

Close to the bus station
There is in lift but the owner happily carried my luggage to my room. He was friendly and helpful Nd made sure I was comfortable . They served a nice breakfast in the morning

Nice family-style hotel very near the city center
It was nice family-style hotel very near the city center. Basic rooms, nice breakfast. Parking is right across the street for €5 or 2 minutes walking for €4.

Good basic original style accommodation
Friendly welcome. Just a walk over the bridge from the station. Close to several nearby options to eat out. Shower was nice and hot. Good basic older style accommodation in original building with stairs to upper levels.

Lost reservations.
The hotel lost our reservation and had no rooms available for the 1st night, but said we could come back for the 2nd night. The hotel manager tried to help us find another room, but they were even worse. We moved to another hotel for for twice the money, which turned out to be better. Cannot rate the rooms as we never saw them, only the lobby. The hotel looked very small although.

Excellent!
Comfortable and clean hotel with exceptional staff! The owner, Michael, went above and beyond to make our stay pleasurable. I stayed for one night with my daughter while waiting for the keys for my own apartment. I would happily stay there again and again and recommend it highly. Thank you Michael :-)

Good location, busy spot
We had just one night at The Anchorage recently. It's an old place, bit run down but everything was clean and the owner and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. It's in a handy spot, right on the waterfront just across from the bus stop (intercity) and across the bridge from the train stn. Just remember to pack the earplugs and you won't be disappointed.

Slitent Hotell
Det ligger veldig sentralt til, og eieren er veldig hyggelig, han prøver å gjøre alt han kan for at du skal ha det bra. Men hele stedet trenger virkelig en oppussing. Dårlig lukt i gangene. Men man kan jo ikke klage for mye når prisen er 34 Euro pr natt.

Never back to this hotel
Many thanks to guy who worked as a substitute. He helped us even in his free time. The "real" staff had no info even e.g. local services, only advise was "go to tourist info". Hotel room had paper walls, dirty carpets and in the very tiny bathroom was mold. Our reservation included breakfast, but they still wanted +9e extra per person by claiming that it is excluced. I had my reservation print with me, but it did not helped us at all. We walked out and we will never go back to this place. One night was enough. PS. There was very nice cafeteria near by. We (three persons) got breakfast there and it costed around 8e total.

No frills
Very affordable and close to everything. The rooms are ok but the beds need replaced. It is street side so if you are a light sleeper wear ear plugs.

right on your doorstep
I found that the location for this guesthouse was perfect it was in walking distance from everything and it was next to the bus station so we didn't have far to walk on order to get our bua home

It was'nt the best but the price was cheap so i think you can't expect a whole lot for that kind of money,Showers was great and the the staff were really nice.

Budget is the word for sure...
Good points: Very well located for Waterford city centre and fantastically located for the bus/coach station and railway station, 30 seconds and 3 minutes walk respectively. Exceptional quality takeaway right next door. The room was very clean, as was the inside of the building in general. The bed, modestly comfortable but I have one of the most comfortable beds in the universe so it's hard to beat! The tea/coffee provisions were very generous too. Bad points: The place really doesn't look much from outside, I've seen more attractive hostels in the past. The lady manning the place was not the most helpful I've come across in a little over 10 years of travelling. The door was a bit irritating when it wouldn't unlock properly on a number of occasions during my stay, and I had been pre-warned by the taxi driver to make sure it was locked at all times. So I'd stay again, but not exactly by choice. For the money it was OK, but not great.

In the perfect place.
Loved every minute. Quality of food at breakfast 100%. The best of everything - Irish quality meat, bread and dairy produce only. I thought that the supermarket would have superceded real Irish tuck. So pleased we stayed there.

Waterford Experience
We were SHOCKED at this stay. The gentleman who was at the desk was most helpful. The rooms were not in the best condition. We thought perhaps remodeling was going on. Carpets were stained and had holes. We had 2 rooms. 1 room only had a sunlight window. Had a fire happened my adult children would have perished. We had no cold water in our bathroom. People were in their rooms smoking. Food was good.

Good for a Budget stayover
Was in Waterford for a two night stay and needed inexpensive lodgings plus a decent breakfast ( " Full Irish " was available, if needed,) so was happy to settle for The Anchorage Hotel. It was clean with fresh linen, towels and soap. The bedroom was large, airy, and the bed itself quite comfortable, although the carpet underfoot needs replacing. The hotel itself is quite close to Railway station and local/main bus station. The staff were very friendly and caring. There is some traffic noise in this location, however.

Good central location
Stayed for one night on my way to Kilkenny for a wedding and it was a very convenient location to get the train next day.The owner was very friendly and helpful.Good value.

I'd never go back
Whilst the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was horrible. Our room smelt as if something had died in it, with a really strong pong of lavender which had been used to try and disguise the stench. The whole place was tatty and looked like it might fall down any minute. The shower was cold, and then I discovered that the hairdryer didn't work. We were stuck in a dark room at the back of the building with no window, just a skylight that we couldn't close, just as we couldn't close the blind across it either. The hallways smelt of smoke, and the whole place was just a big disappointment. The location was by the waterfront, but that end of town seemed pretty dodgy. There was a good choice for breakfast in the morning, but the food wasn't very good quality. For what we paid we weren't expecting much, but I don't think that a hot shower and a room that didn't stink of death was too much to ask for.

Proximité d'un parking et du plus vieux et d'un des plus anciens pubs d'Irlande. Malheureusement, quelques chambres sont bruyantes (trafic automobile). l'accueil est très bien et très arrangeant.

Good place
We had a bad first impression of the place, since we ran into this insane guy on drugs, but when he got out of the way it was really good. The beds look like Batman, so it can't get any better than that. The place is old and needs some fixing up, but it's clean enough and if you're able to close the window (we weren't) it's not too cold. The guy that runs the place was really great and helped us with everything we asked for (We didn't ask about the window until checkout, we're the stupid ones;). It's also not too far to walk anywhere. Would recommend it for someone on a budget.

A lovely experience
The service was excellent. My friend and I stayed for 2 nights whilst on a trip for our 21st birthdays. This guest house made the trip for us. As soon as we arrived there was a pleasent welcome for us. The staff were fantastic and helpful in helping us decide activities in waterford!! The room was clean and cosy!! the location was easy and convienient !!! I loved the stay!! would definatly reccommend this guesthouse!! the owner was so welcoming :)
