Hilton Lake Taupo
8/10 Good
"The staff were friendly and accommodating. The venue is a little dated but clean and the breakfast was generous."
Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort
8/10 Good
"The room was clean, had everything we needed , beds were comfy very comfy , had all the amenities including air con and running hot water which catered to me and my family of 4. Very quiet and you even get views of Lake Taupo from the room . For the price we paid we got more than we bargained for 👏. Props to the house keepers whom work hard day in day out to get these rooms looking the way they do for guests. Only downside is when you’re going to the pools be mindful it’s A steep walk down and then back up once you are done swimming . That’s the biggest downfall with De Bretts , and run down."
Accent on Taupo
10/10 Excellent
"Ross is a wonderful host and is very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a small and cosy studio apartment that had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had a kitchenette with cooking utensils and a stovetop, mini fridge and microwave. Everything we needed to prepare simple meals from scratch including eating/serving utensils. There’s a trampoline for kids and a bit of yard space with reclining chairs to relax in. We used the washing machine and dryer for free, even washing powder is available if needed. There is an affectionate and friendly cat that we will miss. We will definitely endeavour to stay here again on our next trip to Taupō."

"No sink where you can make hot drinks! Hopefully next time"
Cottage Mews Motel
8/10 Good
"The room was clean and well stocked with towels, tea coffee, utensils etc. beds were comfortable. Great location, off street parking. Friendly staff and great comms before arrival. Easy check in. We only stay a night but if staying longer, the hotel offered towels to take if heading out for a swim and kayaks to hire. Bbq facilities also available. The court yard could do with a bit of tlc, remove the dead plants and bathroom is tired - wall paper is starting to come off and mould above the shower ceiling."
