"Very impressed with this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious for 3 of us. It was tasteful and comfortable. The location was great! We could walk to restaurants and around the town easily.
We couldn't get the "hotel parking" because it was full when we arrived (so cannot comment on that), but we were able to easily park on the road outside 'for free' because it was a weekend in NZ - Yay! We would definitely stay here again next time we are in Tauranga. Thank you!"
"Small campground but very well maintained. Cabins, toilets, bathrooms always very clean. However, Some of the showers are due for a renovation.
The pools are great and very entertaining for whole family. The private natural pool is also very nice - recommend it."
"Great location, close to beach and cafes, very tidy room and well equipped kitchen, only downfall I would mention was there was construction in opposite building directly outside our balcony and spanned one side of the entire property that was very noisy and they where pouring tar (or something very Similar) which smelt very bad and we had to keep all doors closed as the smell would become unbearable, we would not have booked if we knew this level of construction was happening outside our door."
"We decided to spend the first night of a Coromandel trip in Thames. Because we were only staying for one night, we looked for a room that wasn't too expensive, but still hoped to find something nice and self-contained, off the highway, ideally in a natural setting, with a bit of a view. Grafton Cottages and Chalets provided all of that! The host, Albi, graciously welcomed us and offered us the Camelia room, located at the front of the property, with a deck with views over the Firth of Thames. The kitchenette includes a two-burner hob plus microwave, allowing for meal prep, with a table and chairs positioned by the front window to take in the view. The room's heat pump kept us cozy and warm on a cool winter's night. Below the deck, there were plantings of regenerating bush, which we later learned was Albi's labour of love. We felt lucky we happened upon Grafton Cottages and Chalets when we searched for accommodation; we'd happily return, considering a larger unit for a longer stay, and while we're there, check out the regrowth on the property grounds over time."
