Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn

"We stayed here during the BC Bike Race (2026) and couldn't have been happier. The staff were courteous and helpful; our main floor room made for easy access, parking was easy, and there was a hose in the lot to clean the bike before moving it indoors. The bedding in the room was amazing - we slept so well - and the room was clean, as was the entire property. We took advantage of the hotel breakfast each morning, and it was excellent. The restaurant where the breakfast was served was wonderfully staffed and we ate dinner there twice as well - the menu, meals and service were top notch. Will look to stay here again next time we are in town!"

"Had a wonderful weekend at the poets cove resort! The room is cozy and clean and has spectacular views of the harbour. The restaurant downstairs has great vibe serving delicious dinner with sunset view and live band by the water. We made good use of the well maintained tennis court and the hot tub during our stay which is such a bonus!"

"The British Columbia southern gulf islands are special by any global standard, and each of the islands has a unique character based on its geography and community. Our stay at the Mayne Island Resort allowed us to experience the best of Mayne Island. The accommodations were perfect for a great night's rest and preparing a nice meal (or taking advantage of the on-site dining room) after a day of sea kayaking in Bennett Bay, Campbell Bay to the north or waters to the south, toward Saturna Island. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool (spa area) and appreciated the easy kayak launch site on Bennett Bay and easy walking distance to the Gulf Islands National Park area along the northern shore of Bennett Bay and southern shore of Campbell Bay. We particularly enjoyed sitting on our patio in the morning savouring a cup of coffee and watching / listening to the birds. We're not birders per se, but within a half hour or so each of three mornings were able to identify (through their songs using the Merlin app) 23 to 25 different bird species including three species of swallows (Purple Martins, barn swallows, violet-green swallows), and frequently saw raptors such as bald eagles, osprey and a red-tailed hawk, along with a blue heron. ...and we sauntered down the road for a really great craft beer at Mayne Island Brewing on two afternoons. This is a not-to-be missed part of the Mayne Island visit. Overall, Mayne Island resort was a great place to unwind and find new experiences."
