"The staff was very welcoming and gave us good recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The property was within walking distance to the beach, several restaurants, and the “downtown” area. The unit was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. It was great to have the microwave, mini refrigerator with a working small freezer compartment, and a 2 burner cooktop. Dishes, etc. were supplied also. The hotel is older, but there were some upgrades: paint, bed linens, shower tiling. There were ample outlets for phone chargers. On the negative side: the chair outside of the unit was old and rusty, the paper towel holder and toilet paper holder were rusty as was the metal part of the light fixture between the beds. The baseboard needs to be cleaned and repainted. The back door of our room, which opened to the pool area had enough space between the bottom of the door and the door jamb for insects and rodents to come in. Thankfully there was no sign of either in our room or around the hotel. The bathtub was slippery, so handrails should be installed for safety. "
"Our biggest complaint is that the TV in the room didn't work. It wasn't just our room, it was the whole property. The first day we arrived and it wasn't working, the staff said they were working on getting it fixed. The next day we saw a Xfinity truck so we had hope it was going to be fixed, but no. Xfinity said nothing was wrong on their end. The message on the screen said the device was not activated. We stayed FIVE nights and it was not fixed when we left. Of course we weren't there to watch TV, but at night we want to turn on the TV to relax. This wouldn't have been an issue if the TV's in the room were smart TV's so we could login to our streaming apps. But they were not. We ended up using our laptop to have something on at night but this was really disappointing.
My other complaints are that the pool is VERY SMALL and I don't believe there is any chlorine in the pool. I'm also not sure that it was a heated pool, although they would put a cover over it that heats the water.
We stayed in the hotel rooms and the bathroom is soooo small. There was hardly any water pressure from the shower and there wasn't much variation in water temperature. We were supposed to get clean sheets after 3 days but I don't think that happened. The property is just old and outdated.
The beach is amazing and close! So if that's all you care about, maybe it's perfect! There are some restaurants close but you mostly have to drive to them.
The staff person that I talked to was very nice.

"First and foremost, the front office staff is absolutely amazing! Pleasant and happy with a smile every time I saw them. Thanks, ladies!
As for the room, it was super clean and fresh, including the floors, the fridge and microwave. Hot water with good pressure in the shower. Bed was comfy. and best of all, a super short walk to the beach! This is my new favorite place. Thank you Sandcastle! See you guys next week. "
"Vert disappointing stay. The unit was clean but very rundown. There were rocks in the washing machine I had to remove before using it. They want all the dishes clean before leaving but there were no dishtowels or wash rags in the kitchen. The rug was very frayed and the corners did not stay down creating a trip hazzard that was hard to avoid. The TV did not work the entire 2 days we were there. Parking is a nightmare you must be able to park in very tight spaces and we were often blocked and had to ask others to move their car. The location is great and with a decent paint job new flooring and ceiling tiles it could be a nice place. Definitely not worth the price we spent. The heated pool is a pool with a solar cover. BUYER BEWARE."
