Overall we had a lovely time at Le Cardinal. The reception, restaurant, Chef, gardening and cleaning staff were all amazing. The great service, food and ambience of the hotel was excellant. Beatiful veiws of the pool and the sea.

Fantastic Hotel with ******* Stars Service!!

This Hotel is wonderful. 20 of 10 points!! All employees are very friendly, work extremely efficiently and fulfil each wish you might have. We spent 10 nights in penthouse with private pool. Everything was luxurious, very clean. Employees are proud to work in this Hotel and you feel that. Everything worked perfectly. Also transfers etc, done by Maurijet and organized by the Hotel. Just great!! Thanks again for absolute great service.

Hôtel noté 5 étoiles mais une honte pour le prix !! Tout juste un 3 étoiles ..jolie vue ,personnel gentil et bonne cuisine …Tout le reste en dessous d’un 3 étoiles !!! Personne a l’accueil à notre arrivée à 13h , chambre demandée par mail 2 mois avant à l’étage pas disponible , certe une grande chambre avec jolie vue mais tout vétuste et en mauvais état ,nous nous attendions selon les commentaires à des équipements de plage (canoë ,laser , pedalos etc )?tout était sale ,vieux ou cassés ..la plages est étroite et publique donc tout le monde peut se poser à côté de votre transat /parasol (à 10 cm de nous) …la plage est pas entretenue ,un fauteuil sale de cacas d’oiseau est resté ainsi malgré mes remarques pendant 10 jours!!! Etc etc …une honte pour le prix ..Seule bonne chose là nourriture et la gentillesse du personnel !! Visiblement aucun manager pour assurer une qualité d’un 5 étoiles !!! Très déçues …très dommage !!!

A bijoux!

A bijoux hotel at the beach with excellent service. Nice rooms, tasty decorated, the staff checks twice a day, good breakfast, everything is clean, the small garden is spotless. If you prefer to be in the centre of attention instead of sharing the same address together with other 500 guests then Le Cardinal is a perfect choice.

Très bon séjour.

Très bon séjour, hotel magnifique et reposant, personnel très gentil et attentionné , surtout nawak qui est adorable et le responsable du restaurant et du bar de plage très gentil et très professionnel. Point à améliorer; la qualité des fruits au petit déjeuné et des pains au chocolat et croissants, idem pour les jus de fruit et le chocolat chaud qui manque de gout idem pour les charcuteries.

Just great

It feels very private and exclusive. You are getting all attention and not in annoying way. Very clean place and polite staff. Restaurant is great, Friday’s you can book a table on the beach, very special with all these lights and decorations. Rooms are neat, views are great. Many water activities with no extra charge. Wifi is OK, enough parking space, no complains

Small hotel in Ttou aux Biches

This is a small hotel. It’s not at the luxury end of the hotel market but has a number of good features; our junior suite was spacious with sea views and a small balcony and a large bathroom that is almost the size of the bedroom. Interiors are neutral and it was clean and serviced every day. The hotel grounds are small with a nicely maintained garden and a very small pool and from here you can step down to the beach where the hotel enjoys a large run of sand and shallow waters of the Trou Aux Biches coastline which we used most days (includes other hotels and public beaches which get busy at weekends). The hotel dining room is small and with overhead lighting and felt like a canteen. The outdoor tables on the adjoining balcony were much nicer and more intimate but limited owing to the unfortunate weather conditions. We didn’t use the communal areas inside the hotel as they amount to no more than a reception area with a piano and in need of redecoration. We returned to our room after dinner. The staff were friendly and very authentic but seemed to have been trained in silver service with numerous cutlery changes at each meal and napkin flourishes. This is not required and I would have preferred a more leisurely eating experience as the food was always nice as opposed to established standards and timings which made meals routine and at an almost competitive pace.

Perfect place to recuperate

Stayed here for days prior to embarking on a 2 week cruise. Absolutely beautiful, small resort with every convenience you could want -- luxurious large room with spectacular view of the beach and grounds, wonderful evening meals, and a host of activities.

OVERBOOKING

Quand nous sommes arrivés, il n’y avait pas de chambre pour nous. Les raisons expliquées par la direction n’etaient absolument pas crédibles. Nous avons eu une chambre pour 1 nuit dans l’hotel en face qui est un 3 étoiles avec des chambres vetustes et bruyantes. En compensation, nous avons eu le repas de midi. Ma sœur est arrivée une semaine après nous, via expédia, et même chose ! Exédée par cette pratique, je me suis entretenue avec le directeur qui n’a pu expliquer clairement le pourquoi de cette situation. Ma sœur et moi même avons reçu de nouveau un repas de midi + un massage duo, en compensation. La compensation était cette fois plus correcte mais la Direction n’a pas admis l’overbooking et a continué à nous prendre pour des idiots avec des explications foireuses. Pourquoi nous ? Alors que des nouveaux clients sont arrivés 2 heures après ma sœur et eux ont eu directement leur chambre ! Est ce parce que nous avons réservé via Expédia ? C’est vraiment dommage car tout est parfait dans cet hôtel si on a la chance d’avoir directement la chambre qu’on a réservée et payée longtemps avant !

Nice boutique hotel in quiet setting near town.

Well kept rooms and grounds, nice indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar, beautiful shaded setting on lovely beach. Attentive and helpful staff, especially Dinoo and Avish. If you are looking for a local guide, ask the desk to contact Max, who gave us a most excellent Divalli tour experience, including coffee and sweets in his family home. Only minor negative was squeeky floorboards in rooms.

Small private place

Lady in Receptionen poor attitude and not the "I provide service for you" as I was looking for. Traveling with a toddler and asking if we could have the room two hours past check out so he could sleep (and offer to eat and spend money in their lunch restaurant off corse) and reception stated extra fee 2500 rupees. Just stupid and poor service. Main reason for not receiving top Score. Fantastic view from the room Large room and very comfortable Slow wifi as everywhere else in the island Beds quite hard Beach and garden very nice and private. A bit rocky so I suggest shoes when swimming. The area is clean and comfortable.Small hotel and private just as we were looking for. Very child friendly. No shop or supermarket close by and everything is really expensive on site. A bit weird to have food on the menu for add-on-price when you have paid for half board already.

Hotelli oli oikein miellyttävä. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä. Kuulumisia ja viihtymistä kyseltiin ehkä vähän liiankin aktiivisesti suomalaiseen makuun. Ravintolan illallismenu oli melko kovan hintainen, emmekä syöneet siellä kuin kerran. Etenkin viinit ovat todella kalliita. Aivan hotellin vieressä ei ole erityisen paljon ravintoloita, mutta 2 km säteellä vaihtoehtoja on runsaasti. Trou aux Bichesin "keskusta" on vartin kävelymatkan päässä ja siellä on kauppa, posti yms. palvelut. Hyödynsimme hotellin yhteistyökumppanin myymiä retkiä.

Lite luksushotell direkte på stranden

Le Cardinal Resort har bare 13 juniorsuiter/suiter. Det er en liten perle av et hotell beliggende rett på egen strand og passer perfekt for de som ønsker en avslappende ferie i rolige omgivelser. Vi hadde halvpensjon, men valgt å spise samtlige måltider på hotellet som har en topp chef. Rikholdig og variert meny å velge fra, alltid med et lokalt tilsnitt. Blidt og behagelige personale som gjorde alt for å gi oss et strålende opphold. Store og velutstyrte rom, alle med utsikt over sjøen. Spa på nabohotellet over veien. Avslappende luksus kan oppsummere hotellet.

A l'occasion de notre voyage de noces, nous avons séjournés 4 nuits au cardinal. Il nous a été difficile d'en partir tant nous nous sommes régalés. Nourriture excellente (restaurant presque gastronomique), services au top du top, personnel aux petits soins et d'une grande gentillesse. Idéal pour trouver calme et sérénité pour se ressourcer au contact des mauriciens toujours au top. Fint hotell ved stranden, middels service.

Fint hotell med umiddelbar nærhet til kjempe fin strand. Servicen på hotellet er noe litt annet. Jeg skulle fri til kjæresten min og ville ha en et bord på stranden eller i strandbar område på kvelden. Det var umulig. Enda det var flere ansatte på hotellet en gjester. Et annet stort minus er at du MÅ ha bukse når du skal spise middag. Alt dette preget turen veldig. Men ellers var servicen grei.

Lovely quiet hotel on its own beach

We wanted a quiet stress free break and were so glad we chose here. Everything is high class, the room, the beach, the food. We didn't eat dinner here every night but when we did, the chef made excellent curries on request for my vegetarian wife. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely interested in you. The almost private beach - with security guard - has to be one of the best on the island, and water sports are included in the room price. With only 13 rooms, this 6 year old hotel is a quiet oasis - perfect for us, but maybe not if you want a more lively scene. We will return!

“Beautiful Hotel with wonderful staff!”

We stayed here for 8 days for a relaxing getaway, and did just that! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. The room was wonderful and spacious with a lovely sea view. They were very clean with a large shower and a huge round bath. Everyday we were delivered some fruit or canapés in the afternoon and every evening were given the next days forecast during the turndown service - a couple of nice touches. The location is perfectly situated at the quieter end of Trou aux Biches and is ideal for watching the amazing sunsets. The beach itself is lovely and the hotel offers free watersports and a ride in a glass bottom boat. I have to agree with other reviews that it is a shame that they don't have happy hour earlier as it would be lovely to sip one (or two!) while watching the sunset. What we loved most about the hotel was the service of the staff, it was attentive but without the stuffiness. Every day they would go out of their way to come and have a friendly chat and to make sure that we were ok. On our last day, Samantha made a special effort to come and find us to say goodbye before she headed off home - we felt like we were leaving friends. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel enough. We would love to come back and stay again!
