Need some renovating
Amazing view on the Cathedral (a clean window would've made it even better). Great breakfast. Staff at reception very helpful and professional. This earns a good review, but.... I found the TV bearing on. The hand soap was completely empty; small detail in a bigger picture: had the room actually been cleaned? It seems so and they got me the soap in the end. The room (and the hotel) looks in need of some reparing here and there. Quite cold even with the heating at full steam. Luckily I could use the other duvet. I'm not new to Northern climate. I didn't mention anything. I was staying only two nights and didn't want anyone in my room. In general I found it overpriced. But the potential is good.

The property is in city center and within walking distance of everything. The room rate is incredible, especially considering the included breakfast and its proximity to downtown Tromso.

It’s in an excellent location. The AirPort Express shuttle is a two minute walk from there. My room was in an interesting location. My window faced an interior seating area used for storage. There was large storage containers blocking half my windows. I didn’t mind. The walls were very thin, I could hear the room next door plugging in their devices and such but it was quiet at night. There was a climate control fan on which was loud and made a rhythmic noise which I didn’t really like. Woke up during the night to turn it off. The water pressure in the shower was amazing and I didn’t turn it on all the way.

The staff was courteous and professional. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast area and buffet selection were outstanding. Food was delicious. On our second morning we were awakened by the sound of construction drilling of a fixture on the other side of the wall behind our bed. Once we reported the noise, the drilling stopped. We would have appreciated a warning or perhaps a different room from the start. All in all though, an excellent stay. Would highly recommend.

Go for the food
The hotel is super well located, the service is great, the rooms are ok, they are modern but could do with some refresh. The main down point for me was that I couldn't find the thermostat in the room so the room was a little too hot for our taste and the heating doesn't seem to be adjustable in the room. However, the big plus here is the food. The restaurant buffet is great and good value for money. Breakfast was really good with more than expected and we did lunch once and it was well beyond our expectations, super good.

For the sake of fairness, the breakfast was good, the view from the room was lovely, and the superior room was spacious. However, this hotel is downright gross! The room was dirty with mold in the shower caulking and built-up dirt in the window frame. It felt generally dusty. As an asthmatic, I felt it with every breath. The floors must not have been swept nor scrubbed in a while; after walking from the bathroom to the bed after a shower, my feet were filthy from the floors. The room was so dusty that we kept the windows open for three days in freezing weather to get fresh air. Additionally, the bathroom is AWFUL. Not only is it super dated, the bath tub/shower combo is also risky. The bottom is extremely slippery and narrow, making it difficult to stand comfortably while showering. I am 5'7 and have long legs; getting in and out was a hike! I don't know how shorter legged and older folks would manage without slipping. The half door did nothing to keep water in, and the floor mat was completely soaked after one shower. The water gets warm at best but never hot. It is just a terribly designed and completely unkempt bathroom. I would find a better hotel in Tromso. Completely regret booking this one.

The hotel staff was incredibly friendly, breakfast was amazing and the location is very convenient. The rooms are quite cramped and it's very loud at night (coming from the alley), which can be problematic with children.

The location was central and we had easy walks to the activities we were most interested in. Room was fairly basic, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very, very good and the woman in charge of service was super friendly and helpful (Baret, I think?). Front desk staff also cheerful and helpful when we had a little trouble understanding the automatic locking system on our door (there was a timed delay). I would stay here again!

Great location, front desk unattended
Overall is a nice option. Located in the center of town is convenient to exploring the attractions of Tromsø. We walked around late at night to experience the 'Midnight Sun' and we didn't have an issue at all. Pretty safe, clean and interesting town. Room was great with bunk beds that the kids really enjoyed. Breakfast was amazing and included. They have a small parking lot underneath the property so is a gamble whether or not you can get a spot. I do have a complaint: They leave the front desk unattended. When I got there to check in, I waited for at least 20 minutes and there was NOBODY in sight. Just a sign on yhe desk: "We'll be nack soon". I had parked the car outside in a public lot so I needed to check in quickly and move it. Literally as I was walking away this young lady shows up and checks me in.

A nice stay
I booked a suite because the website said that there were two twin beds. There were, but it turns out they were together to form one big bed. So, not convenient when you are sharing with parents. The staff however, tried hard to accommodate us to no avail. We ended up getting an extra mattress for the stretch-out sofa. So it turned out ok. The hotel also had free waffle time in the afternoon and was very understanding to host in their sitting area until our evening departure. When we arrived, their garage was full, which was inconvenient, but they informed us the parking needed to be reserved in advance. This is not clearly written on the website. Luckily, there was paid street parking available, but for some reason the staff did not know that Sundays were free so I ended up paying for no reason. But overall, a great location, and a nice hotel with a descent breakfast.
