Top Tröllafossar Hotel Reviews

Hótel Hafnarfjall

8/10 Good

"The hotel had very nice views. The lady at check-in was extremely friendly. The hotel seems a bit old with worn carpet, etc but it was still a very nice stay. There was a very strong sulfur smell from the hot water in our room which is typical in a lot of Iceland hotels. In Iceland you will smell sulfur a lot all over and we got used to it pretty fast. This hotel did not have self check-in like many others do. We were concerned we would not make it in time while the front desk was still open so we called and they told us not to worry, someone will be there for us. We enjoyed our stay."

Hótel Varmaland

10/10 Excellent

"The best hotel in Iceland. Loved everything about it. Bathrooms are funny though, but once you get a history of it, you get it."

Hotel Stafholt

10/10 Excellent

"Spacious and comfortable room and bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast and hot tub under the stars. Beautiful location in peaceful surroundings. Scenery and nature are perfect. Enjoyed our stay here."

Setrið Guesthouse

10/10 Excellent

"Great stay, all was nice!"

Fossatún Country Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"I’ve stayed here three times over the past 10 years. Most recently in October 2026. The property is very well maintained and looks the same as it did 10 years ago. If I am going to West Iceland I always stay at the Fossatun hotel. It’s also a great place to see the aurora."

Hótel Borgarnes

10/10 Excellent

"Good location. Nice staff. Room is big. Easy park."

Hotel Hamar

10/10 Excellent

"Pretty property ; amazing hot tub ; nice views"

Hotel Bifrost

10/10 Excellent

"Great stay, will come again :)"

The Hvítá Inn

10/10 Excellent

"We loved the cozy atmosphere we felt upon arriving at the Inn. There's a common area to hang out in with board games to play, with comfy chairs and a dining area aswell. The hosts offered free coffee or tea which was a nice touch. Our room was clean and the beds were comfy. The bathroom was a little small with an awkward curb on the floor for the shower area but thats more of an observation than a complaint. The breakfast was very good. We would definitely stay here again"
