Front desk staff friendly. Room smelled like marijuana,
We stay here while we were fishing in the area. The first room that we were given had an odor to it but we went to the front desk and they happily moved us a a much better room. Very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We ended up extending our stay for three days. This coming weekend they will be opening up an Asian restaurant in the hotel.
They have done many updates to the hotel since we were there two years prior. The weekly rates are very affordable. We will be back again.
Do NOT stay at this hotel. I stayed there 10/17 and noticed on 10/23 that I had all sorts of itchy red bug bites on my neck and arms. Bedbugs can take up to 2 weeks to show signs of the attack. I should’ve been wary earlier since my boyfriend found an earwig on the headboard. There was no working fan or hair dryer in the bathroom and we weren’t given enough towels either. Front reception was friendly at least.
Breakfast was coffee and packaged muffins.
The property itself looks a little rough, but the room was nice and clean....i would stay again. It is about 6 miles south of the tourist/downtown area but that didnt matter because i was in town working
Good location conveniently located to nearby cities. Necessities met. Thank you.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
At check in the lady was just doing her job. Nothing more. Not really friendly or welcoming. The room itself was pretty nice. Recently redone. The hall though had a really bad odor. The jets in the hot tub didn’t work. The pool was ok until they drained it during our stay with no notice or explanation. There were a couple missing windows which anyone could just come into the building through.

Good place to crash, no hot tub
Beds were comfortable. Good location. No hot tub, pool opens at 3pm daily. Older hotel with no elevator.
Felt like a “seedy” motel, broken tile, dark narrow hallways, no locking, fan in bathroom didn’t work, light on mirror not working, caulking dirty, noise from small refrigerator kept us awake until unplugged, torn up parking lot, general feeling was questionably safe, property was in bad condition. Good location close to Interlochen, that was our destination.
This was a one night stay to be close to a concert venue. The property outside has not been kept up, the entrance door is propped up and sitting next to the the entrance. the grass had not been cut, the outside has not been maintained. The carpets we not vacumed in the hallway. The room itself was clean. there was cups and coffee packs but no coffee maker, the bed was comfortable. There was no hot water for a shower. the breakfast was just cereal and oatmeal, juice and coffee and tea but only served on weekends. I would not stay here again, not worth the price.
Nothing special for this amount money , fresh paint in the room, wires hanging from ceiling,

Exactly what I expected from an Econo Lodge
The room was fine. There was one light with no bulb and the switch by the door didn't seem to turn anything on, so maybe it was for the light with no light bulb. Overall the room was clean. There could have been extra towels and there was no conditioner, only shampoo.
I was worried when we booked it. But no bugs in our room or on our mattress.
Sheets were clean. Air conditioner worked great! The sink had a leak but overall looked like they have been working on fixing things. The staff was nice.
Even being on the first floor right by the receptionist it wasn’t too loud.
The breakfast was okay.
There was no staff at check out which was odd to me, but it did say they were short staffed.

If you want a solid basic stay w/out spending $$$
If you have tried to get a hotel near Traverse City in any time except the dead of winter you know that the prices for hotels are bananas. I was drawn in by a very reasonable price for a weekend stay but I worried that it would be a stone cold dump. When we arrived we were pretty sure we were getting a dump. The parking lot/exterior/lobby is a bit rough. The room however, was pretty good. Comfortable and spacious. Had all the items that you wanted. We didnt use the pool but the indoor pool area looked nice when we passed it. All we wanted was a comfortable nights sleep and we got it. If youre looking for more amenities then this isnt the spot
This place is disgusting. NOTHING like what is advertised! Rooms smelled awful, floors looked as tho they hadn't been vacuumed in days, the bathroom was gross, And the front desk help barely spoke English and if asked a question, they were rude and disrespectful. Unfortunately, everywhere else was booked so our group had to stay there. Nobody felt safe! And the so called "property manager" was not seen anywhere for any of us to talk too or return calls. We would be told when he'd be there but funny how nobody seen him at any time during our stay!!

Extremely loud cleaning staff
We visited on Memorial Day weekend. Overall, it was quiet. However, on our last day there, Sunday, with checkout time being 11, the cleaning staff decided to start cleaning rooms before 7 a.m. They were speaking loudly in the hallways, and even worse, SLAMMING doors as they went in and out of the rooms. This was so wrong - we were on vacation and unable to sleep in on our last day there. Note that I saw less than 10 cars in the parking lot so it's not like they had a bunch of rooms to get done in a short time. Even if they did, this was totally unacceptable behavior at that hour of the morning!
If you are looking for the type of accommodations that provide a hair dryer in the bathroom, this place is not it. If you only need a place to lay your head, it probably won’t hurt you for a night or two. The sheets and pillows appeared clean. The towels looked 20 years old- thin, worn, and not at white as they once were. The window did not close all the way creating a safety concern. It looks like they replace things only when absolutely necessary. The shower walls looked newer, and there was an updated mirror in the bathroom. However the shower floor was old and did not match. The walls had holes from remodeling, that were never patched or painted. The door jams in the bathroom and bedroom of the “suite” were splintered and glued back together. The night clerk was very friendly. The day clerk spent her time smoking in a lawn chair outside.
We have no complaints about the staff; they were always friendly and helpful. The building and our room need upgrading. The carpet on the stairs and in the hallways is a very ugly pattern, is dirty and has a smell. The room we were in lacked features normally found in motels. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. It has really a garish, unpleasing pattern on the shower walls, and the apparent leaks on the shower floor were poorly patched. The lighting over the mirror was insufficient to do makeup or groom hair. The bed sheets are cheap and thin, and the elastic corners wouldn’t stay tucked in. There were white spots on the bedspread; who knows what that is. The complementary breakfast was lacking. All there was to eat was dry cereal, and pre-packaged sweet rolls, coffee and tea, no waffles, no fruit, no way to make toast. We had to eat breakfast out at a restaurant.
