"Pros
- Free Parking
- Near Centre
- Swimming Pool
- Shower Pressure
- Radiator in the Room
Cons
- Booked 2 x twin rooms but only gave one key card. When we asked and received the second card it blocked access for the original card. This happened for both rooms we booked.
- We stayed 4 nights, it's frustrating that you have to request cleaning by 10am for the following day.
- When cleaning was requested, they made the bed but did not clean the bathroom or replace the towels. When we asked ast reception, they said they had no idea who had been in our room!?
- The pool states that it was heated, it did not feel like it was heated and it was dirty. You can see grime on the steps where people have tried to scratch off the dirt.
- The WiFi settings do not allow you to cast things via Chromecast which is a shame.
- We were told that the front door was open 24/7 but this was not the case. It was locked on the first night so we never tried again.
I expected more when paying £800 in total for 2 rooms x 4 nights."
"This is a lovely hotel which we have stayed in before. Friendly, helpful staff and conveniently situated for a short walk to the beach & Mawgan Porth, coastal walks. Buffet breakfast has lots of choice but does run out quickly, staff are on hand to top up but you may need to wait for certain items. Hot breakfast is available for a surcharge, we found the buffet breakfast more than adequate. No air conditioning in the rooms but fans were provided and these were very effective in the recent heat. Our room overlooked the car park (only option available when booked due to half term) which was noisy from early in the morning with deliveries and trolleys being pushed around. Ate in the OGO restaurant which was lovely staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable great recommendation on the local Bauhaus wine 😊 will definitely stay again for a nice relaxing break with nice food, sunset views and amenities."
"Gorgeous building inside.
Upon check in, we requested breakfast (thought it was included in price but it wasn’t). Reception didn’t ask which one of the 3 choices we wanted. Automatically applied the most expensive to our card. WiFi Intermittent signal. Always buffering on TV. Impossible to watch. Breakfast ok. Nothing to write home about. Wasn’t offered sauces when it arrived. Went for a cigarette at 3am but the front door fire exit was locked from inside. I’m 5ft with 2 frozen shoulders. Took over 5 minutes to slide both the stiff horizontal & top bolts so the door would open. Glad there wasn’t a fire! Have reported this to their local council. Fire regulations clearly not the hotels top priority.
Only 1 teabag in room on arrival. Couldn’t get radiator to work. Soap in bathroom not wrapped. Clearly used by someone else. £295 for 1 night for our anniversary. Really disappointed. Do not recommend."
"The hotel is in the perfect spot, right in the harbour. The room was massive and well equipped with a lovely view. The building is obviously extremely old which has its limitations on decor etc but we had an amazing time there. Would recommend."
