The hotel itself was not too bad. The rooms were basic, clean, perfect location, and with a working AC so it wasn’t that bad. The staff was also nice.
The REALLY BAD thing about it is that they have NO rules. They allow other people who are not guests at the hotel, to use their pool. Mostly locals with MANY kids, who decide to bbq, play loud music, and get drunk around the pool… (people would be using the chairs by our room doors and play their loud videos as well)
When we arrived, the one thing I saw first was a bunch of beer bottles all over the place. We decided to go out instead, even though we were ready to use the pool but felt so uncomfortable because there was almost no space, no chairs and it looked like people would be peeing in the water.
When we came back after dancing the night away (at around 1 am) a group of guests (I think) decided to come in the property yelling and screaming and singing at 2:30 am. Then other people doing the same at around 3:30 BUT THE WORST was a big family with MANY kids who came at 5:30 am to the pool (they were definitely not guests) they had no respect and were talking/playing/cooking/yelling/laughing LOUD at freaking 5:30 am. My friend and I decided to leave at 7:30 because there was no way we would be able to sleep and get some rest before the drive back home.
It is because of this that I am giving them a very low star review. Unfortunately our worst experience in Monterrico.
