Very helpful staff

The owner /staff of the hostel is very friendly and also very helpful. Loved the relaxed feel of the hostel!!! The mattresses of the beds are a bit dated though. Otherwise all good.

Good value

The room didn’t look the greatest but the bathroom was sparkling clean and the fun atmosphere of the place was very nice. Overall I think it was great value.

Great value for an overnight stop in Taupo

Stayed in a family room with our baby. Great value close to Taupo centre. Beds ok for one night. Love the big kitchen. Friendly owners. Would stay again!

Very unique and welcoming. I found the bed quite uncomfortable, but I was not expecting luxury, so, in balance, this was not bad. I really liked that the operator had put the heater on in our room. This kind of service is what makes a difference. My grandson loved the games room and rated the lodge as the best accommodation of our 10 trip.

The staff was friendly and very helpful/informative about the area! Unfortunately the room did not seem to be cleaned properly - there were pills left on the floor, there was hair on the bathroom floor and wall, as well as a half used soap bar also covered in hair... If the room had been cleaned properly I think our overall experience would have been great. A little unfortunate but I guess that’s all part of the travel experience.

Clean rooms. Good flatisaties, nice that family can have their own room together with bathroom it’s just a shame some of the stayers are loud by talking to each other loudly outside the doors and if they have a shower late or early in the morning you it’s a bit of a pain

This Lodge is close to everything. Its close to the town center, supermarkets, restaurant, and even lake Taupo as well. The kitchen is pretty big and equipped, shared dinning room is pretty big, paid laundry is on site, and free parking.

Service fantastic, friendly and welcoming. Clean and tiidy and in a quiet area. Only issue was the single bed in room 14 where you could feel the boards of the base thru the mattress. It made for an uncomfortable and browkn sleep.

Experience was okay, but not great. Plusses - inexpensive, friendly staff, plenty of parking. Minus side - everything felt old and tired, room was small, no bathroom amenities - not even soap, some people didn't clean up well after themselves in the kitchen/eating area.
