I have stayed at the Grand Hotel several times over the last two years. When I first discovered this property I was impressed with all aspects of the hotel. My biggest draw to this hotel is the bathrooms. There is a separate shoer stall (its huge( and the separate deep wide soaking tub. Depending on what room you reserve it can just be a tub or a jetted tub. The very first time I stayed back in 2022 the temp of the hot water was just above luke warm yes could have been hotter but I attributed that to perhaps many people were using the facilities in the morning. However every time I stay the water temp has always been getting less warm. This last time I stayed the water was was tepid, actually cool. If you are going to advertise on your web site that you have large deep tubs one expects to be able to take a HOT bath. I understand that over the years the full service hot buffet went to a continental breakfast with limited options to be able to keep costs reasonable. HOWEVER KEEPING THE WATER TEMP SO LOW THAT ITS ACTUALLY COOL is simply not acceptable to save money.. Unfortunately, when you mention this to the front desk they say there isn't much they can do. I seriously will probably seek other accommodations next time I am in Sunnyvale. If this was a one time event i could accept it, but it has been a constant issue every time i stay with this time being the worst. In fact if you read reviews this is problem is mentioned frequently.

I stayed in the new building. The room is very spacious and clean. Corridors are wide. I think they can improve the breakfast - did not quite like the choices.

There was no hot water for either of the two days of our stay. We were unable to shower and our complaint was met with complete indifference. Very disappointing.

I was booked for a Villa room, and the property deliberately gave me a non-Villa room, hoping that I would not recognize the change. When I complained, they claimed that it was not in the system (i saw a huge Korean tourist group during breakfast next day and it was clear that the property has overbooked). I spent more than an hour with Expedia help desk, and we came to a compromise that I will get the Villa room the next day. When I came the next day to get the Villa room, the Front Desk lady claimed that they do not have a room for me and they may offer a difference to me to stay in the same room. (in between front desk issued a room key to another patron to my room 2403 who opened the door while I was in the room). When I indicated to the Front Desk lady, that I am going to call Expedia, she went back and said she needs to check with her manager. Immediately she came back saying that a Villa room is already on hold for me. Gave me the keys. The phone did not work in the Villa room. The main Sofa bed was badly stained. Not staying here ever again and I need a full refund!!

Kind and helpful staff. Walkable distance from places to eat. Fine for our one-night stay. However, a lot of things are broken or rundown around the hotel. In our room, the showerhead came too easily off the pole as if some part were missing. Almost fell on my head! There are holes in the walls and the drawers/furniture is weird. The door slams every time it closes, too. The complimentary breakfast was...bare minimum. Oh, the AC turned off randomly in the night, so we woke up overheated. Ice machine was broken. Could be a beautiful hotel if a little more upkeep was given!
