My daughter and I loved staying at the mansion. Beautiful property, excellent decor, and it was very clean. We stayed in Emma and we were very impressed with the room. The bed was incredibly comfortable as well as the couch. We felt like royalty. We have decided to make this a yearly girls trip destination. Thank you Jason for your hospitality.

The room was so charming and comfortable. It was so quiet & relaxing. The bed was comfortable, only downside were the pillows were mostly flat. The kitchen was well stocked for anything you wanted to make.

When we travel we always seek historic places to stay. This is not our first experience here, but it is our first time in the carriage house. The good: A convenient bathroom so no trips down the hall during the night (I'm old). The place is nice, quiet, great bed and good showers and everything one might need to camp here, though we ran out of coffee. The view of the historic homes was delightful, and we enjoyed the fact that the Weith-Tootle home is illuminated at night. The facility is nice and we got to support the preservation of an historic home. The less than good: Internet is very bad, maybe even rotten. We could not view the TV much at all and the internet gave VERY S L O W response when it responded at all. Calls about this weren't addressed. Less than great part two: For those considering the carriage house note this isn't a bed and breakfast as you might have experienced in you past stays at historic places. Some breakfast bars, water and grape drink, some syrup and some butter in the freezer. Not what we expected but again we got to support St Joseph history. We had left overs from our diners and the microwave solved our breakfast demands. I wash the dishes at home so no problem there. Ah yes, the coffee. We are addicts but just two good cups apiece in the AM. Our stay was four days and we had one container with very little and a second can with next to nothing, but we travel with our own so no real problem. The nice creamer though was a plus! So, there it is,

The Carriage house is a very nice place to live in away from home. Everything was in the kitchen for cooking, the bedding was super comfy and the staff was there to help if they could. We had a wonderful stay.

This was a unique stay in an old mansion, which was very well decorated. I loved the furniture!! Quiet neighborhood, and a friendly Siamese cat that demanded cuddles on the front porch, which I gladly gave. I was in town to visit my cousin who goes to Benedictine College, so didn't really do much in St. Joseph itself, except eat dinner at Boudreaux, which was tasty.

The Mansion Visit

This bed and breakfast is beautiful and it’s obvious a lot of care and time has gone into making it a cozy retreat. With that said, when we arrived there was snow and ice on the steps leading up to the front door (it hadn’t snowed since the day before). The steps had been cleaned off when we returned later in the evening. The rooms have radiators for heat and we had a very hard time adjusting the temperature. It was very hot in our room. I attempted to reach out to the host on duty via text, but never heard back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Vineyard Mansion. It was like stepping back into the 1880's. The decor was stunning and it was very clean. "Root Beer" was a most gracious host! All in all it was a very unique experience!
