"Run down wreck. Tv is impossible to turn on, even the staff couldn’t figure it out! Then at arrival, they demanded $18. More than the Expedia rate. Or you can’t stay. The wall plugs to charge your phone, half didn’t work
No screens on the windows, anyone could climb through and steal you blind
No A/C
No staff on site when you need staff. Just a nightmare
I’m only 71 yrs old, traveled the world. Perhaps there is a worse place to stay. For now, this is number one."
"Staff were nice.
Property is an updated old motel. The updates were nice but a few of the old scuff did show through.
The beds were
comfortable and firm, although placed quite high for us short kings.
The powder room area had a counter that was meant to sit behind. But there was no chair or stool, so the only way you can see yourself is bending over halfway at the waist to catch a glimpse.
The property east of it is a dilapidated Vagabond Inn, but it is close to California St where a lot of the action is.
Great complimentary breakfast too."
"Lovely ocean views, big room that had a back door to the pool area with a little private sitting area. You can walk down to the beach in about 5 minutes, 20 minutes to the pier. Property is in the process of refurbishing but all the essentials are there. "
Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton
8/10 Good
"Everything was good. My only constructive criticism is I let the staff know the couch in the room had stains all over and no one provided a solution. If you are advertising as lux hotel than that’s the quality I should see and if not a solution should be offered. "
"My room was clean. The towels were disgraceful and they were cigarette butts all over the property. This is a case of a well meaning hotel and management team, but the maintenance people are just not doing what they need to be doing."
