If it's your first time travelling during the COVID-19 pandemic, you'll notice a range of new rules and standards in place. Take note of these tips and make your trip to Skokholm Island go off without a hitch:

• Before you book a flight, find out if any travel restrictions or bans apply — in both your origin and destination. Get the latest updates by checking government websites.
• When you go through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to lower it briefly for identification purposes. Travellers who refuse to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the building.
• To minimize the risk of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA officer.
• TSA now permits passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Empty everything from your pocket, such as your wallet and phone, and put them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to handle and inspect your belongings.
