Loved it here. Everyone was delightful. Could not recommend the Sky Garden Walk and experience more- it should be mandatory! Paul was the perfect guide on this walk. He understands how nature is in line with life and explains the artist’s intentions with Sky Garden’s breathtaking view.
We spent a lovely night in the lodge attached to the Manor House which was a beautiful building .. great breakfast and fabulous garden walks !
Highly recommend for anyone passing through Skibereen
We had a fantastic stay @ Liss Ard. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had every thing we needed and more.
We spent a day at the private lake with our 7 yr old son, fishing, paddle boards, swimming in the refreshing water after the lake side sauna.
The food and service was excellent from breakfast to dinner !
We loved the walks in the estate and the amazing sky garden.
A real gem in west cork…
Lovely stay at this beautiful estate. I was unable to get full use of the beautiful grounds due to limited time but I will certainly return to do so. All staff were very professional, warm and friendly - thank you to MaryRose in particular and also the lovely barman (Malaysian man - I've forgotten name unfortunately) for providing such a lovely welcome and great service. Thank you also for the room upgrade which was a lovely surprise. The lounging areas are beautiful and I really enjoyed sitting by the fire after dinner. Breakfast before check out was nice - nice options on menu & freshly squeezed juice. It was noticeable that there was only one person on the breakfast shift - it seemed there should have been atleast 2 more members of staff on at this time as it was very busy and as a result there were some mishaps (coffee pot was brought but no cup to drink it in as cup that had been on table when I was brought to my seat had coffee in from person before me but when this was taken it was not replaced, fruit was not topped up while I was in breakfast area so I could not have any, I asked for hollendaise sauce to be on the side instead of poured over eggs as I find it to be sickly sometimes but it was served on the eggs) - I did not point out these things as I was in a rush for work &I could see that the girl on breakfast duty was extremely busy & doing her absolute best to attend to the many guests. All in all, I had a wonderful stay, highly recommend, & can't wait to return.

Could be a Special Place
This place has amazing potential. Sadly it does not live up to it. We were put in a "cozy" room," and were told these rooms were for their cost conscious (cheap/poor?) visitors. The next room up was not much more expensive, but unavailable. There was barely room to move around the bed. There was a kettle and coffee machine that had no outlet near them, and no surface large enough to place them to plug them in, and the coffee machine had a continental European plug in any case.
The food was bad. My partner's breakfast omelette was crusty on the outside, with a slab of molten, chewy cheese on the inside. We won't even talk about lunch. It was inedible. My partner, who feels disloyal to his dead mother when he leaves anything on his plate, sent back a near full lamb dish.
When we had an issue and said something, we were made to feel it was our fault for not appreciating this place. That's a weird flex for a service industry.
On the plus side, the staff were generally extremely helpful and pleasant, and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The land is spectacular. The sky garden, which is on the estate, is stunning. It is looking a bit worn though, the browning grass and divots up the side. There is a wonderful set up by the lake with exercise rooms, a pay-per-visit sauna, stand up paddle boards, and a small boat.
Great drinks and a skilled bartender.
This hotel could be really special, but there is just something not coming together.

Room sold as a room for three is in fact a cupboard
Fantastic staff, Dylan and Mark were outstanding servers at dinner and in the bar. The scenic walks, lake house and picnic were fantastic and the sky garden a little drop of peace in West Cork.
The place was lovely and the staff were nice but there were serious issues with the food and service. I understand the pressure of Covid and only having reopened
A glorious place and the staff were super friendly. Things were a little bumpy due to the fact that the place was only open a week after the Covid lockdown. However the sheer good will shone through
Breakfast in the garden looking out over the hills a high point.
Lovely hotel, grounds are so nice for a walk and they made us and our dogs feel welcome. Great base for exploring west Cork. Restaurant is really good.

Wonderful find with amazing views!
The property was amazingly beautiful with lots of places to enjoy a walk and fresh air with wonderful scenery. The rooms were somewhat small however lovely and functional. Breakfast was included and excellent made to order food with a buffet also. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet. We’d like to give a huge shout out to Anna who’s hospitality was unrivaled. Her generosity and compassion after my dad told her our reasons for traveling were heartwarming and we were deeply moved. Overall an extraordinary stay!
