I'm sorry to hear your experience was unpleasant. Because we are on a gravel road, the front room often gets dirty quickly. We do our best to stay on top of this but it is not always perfect. The house keeping is not required to clean the room like a check out during a stay over. They are required to replenish any used-up items, like soaps, coffee, towel, ect and remove trash or things along those lines. If you require a deep clean during your stay, please request is at the front desk. We pride ourselves in being among some of the cheapest accommodations SIlverton has to offer. From Mid-June to Mid-October, we are in peak season. Rates are higher for all businesses in Silverton during this time. Jennifer,We are sorry to hear your stay was unpleasant. Rooms 6 and Room 7 are advertised that the bathrooms are not in-suite. These rooms are also cheaper for this reason. Our mattresses are new but aren't always to everyone's comfort level. We do our best to pick mattresses that most people will enjoy but that is not always possible. Samantha,I am sorry to hear your stay was unpleasant. We are trying to find a solution to the sound traveling. We are still in the progress of our remodel and are always open to suggestions. The cover on the mattress is to protect it from the outside world and to insure your bed is always as clean as possible. As for the AC, finding AC in Colorado is a rare occurrence unless you live in a lower and hotter city. We only have warm weather for about 2 months of the year. The rest of the year is very cold so everyone's main focus is the make sure it stays warm enough we we get to -30 in the winter. Thank you for taking the time to give us a review!

We are sorry to hear you had an unpleasant stay. This room is advertised that it is without windows. AC is uncommon at high elevation as we are typically very cold. It is warm for only a couple months of the year. The winters reach -30s and we do our best to keep the buildings warm and free from drafts. As for the door; because there are no windows, there has to be a quick release lock to be in compliance with fire code. This is in case of a fire. The room has to have an exit that is easy to escape if there is danger. It does not open from the outside unless it is unlocked from the inside.

I'm sorry to hear you had an unpleasant stay by coming during the off season. Silverton is indeed a ski town in the winter as we get 20-30 feet of snow a winter. There are 2 places to ski in town, Kendall Mountain and Silverton Mountain. Kendall is great for beginers and Silverton is extreme skiing, offering helicopter drops and guided adventures. The San Juan mountains have the highest concentration of mountains over 13,000 feet which makes it a well sought after ski area. Every year, the summer season starts in May. The town of Silverton has it own website in which it explains many things about the town and their schedules. It has everything anyone needs to plan a visit here. As for the phone, we run 3 motels out of this office and are frequently receiving calls from guests to book their rooms. My employees are required to keep them on the line and make sure they finished their reservations before hanging up. As the summer season is about to start, the calls will be more frequent. All of our rooms are advertised as being small. They are 200sq foot, as advertised. If this was not to your liking, we offer 2 addition hotels that have larger rooms. The Triangle Motel and Prospector Motel. Prospector Motel has just been newly remodeled.
