Absolutely loved this hotel, sadly only stayed a couple of nights. The location is stunning and it's the perfect location to relax by the infinity pool. The food at the restaurant is amazing too and there is happy hour between 5-6pm every day with delicious cocktails that can be enjoyed by the pool. It feels very luxurious and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I suppose the only downside is that there aren't enough sun loungers if the hotel is busy, and the WiFi can be a bit patchy. Would definitely stay again if I'm in this part of the world again

Samanvaya is a truly special place — beautifully designed, set among stunning rice terraces, and run by people who clearly care deeply about both their guests and their community. The setting in Sidemen Valley feels authentic and connected to traditional Balinese life, and the resort’s focus on sustainability and giving back through their Support Sidemen program adds real meaning to the stay. Our villa was serene and well kept, and the staff were consistently warm, attentive, and genuine — exactly the kind of hospitality that makes Bali unforgettable. The restaurant and pool areas overlook incredible scenery, perfect for slowing down and soaking it all in. That said, during our stay there was some construction happening near the restaurant. Each morning around 8 a.m. we could hear hammering, which took a little away from the tranquility of the experience. But as anyone who’s spent time in Bali knows, there’s always some building going on — paradise never gets built silently. Overall, Samanvaya remains a beautiful retreat, full of heart and purpose. Once the construction wraps up, it will be as peaceful as ever and well worth visiting for anyone wanting to experience the real Bali in comfort and calm.

Samanvaya was in a very clean and up and coming community. The dining at Asri was one of our favorites in all of Bali. The ambiance was incredible in the garden dining area. The food choices and tastes were some of the best we encountered in all of Bali. We could see ourselves coming back to Samanvaya with options to explore the nearby culture and natural wonders. Tami at the front desk was an absolute dream to work with.

A piece of paradise

This is an incredible resort. It’s stunningly beautiful, sparkling clean, the rooms are incredible, unique designs, beautiful touches, amazing views. It’s lush and green with gorgeous landscaping, beautiful pools. The restaurant has great food and is absolutely beautiful. The spa is fantastic. But the best part of Samanvaya… the staff. The most kind, happy, genuine people. They can’t do enough to make your stay perfect.

The Samanvaya was exceptional in every way. Sidemen is a dream and the hotel sits perfectly within this majestic landscape. The food in the restaurant was exceptional for both breakfast and dinner and the trip out to visit a local home was both fascinating and welcoming. Tami is a great host in welcoming us, walking us through our suite, accommodating to our special request to order an early breakfast, explaining what is available on the property (where the dinning hall is, how to call the reception desk from our suite, etc…). I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff was so accommodating and the facility was stunning - very clean, quiet, and naturally beautiful. The on-site restaurant and spa service were also excellent. Free breakfast everyday was fresh and there were lots of options. I also enjoyed dinner there too with the staff who were so friendly and always remembered my preferences. I booked a waterfall and natural spring tour as well and my guide was very knowledgeable. We stopped at rice paddies on his scooter and he showed me around the village, which was wonderful. I felt very safe and comfortable during my entire stay, I wish I extended for more days.

Stayed for 3 nights Amazing experience Do wake up at 530am to catch the sunrise at the main pool Stayed at the rice barn, rightfully surreal as we are next to the rice fields, many bugs making noise at night but its part of the "living in the field" experience. Amazing... Staff was super attentive, our needs were all met without a fitch. We decided to purchase the hotel kimono 2hours before our check out, and they had it dry cleaned and washed in time for our check out. Service standards were awesome... This place is simply magical...

Eco Luxury Overlooking Rice Fields in Old Bali

This hotel is amazing! Eco luxury tucked into quintessential old Bali. Gorgeous decor with infinity pools and Bali beds overlooking the rice paddies. Phenomenal food with wide variety of options and the included breakfast is to die for. The spa is immaculate and my treatment was other worldly; the Ananda signature massage with Shirodhana added… I will expand- it begins with an hour full body massage with warm oil. Then 30 minutes of reflexology and the warm oil dripping on your third eye While a therapist is massaging the oil into your head. Heaven!!!! The service is amazing; the kindest, most genuine staff who is always getting you everything before you even need it. We are in love with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone going to Sideman. Their initiative and care for the community and giving back is incredible and so noteworthy as well!

At first we were m excited to stay here reading others’ reviews and seeing the pictures. But that quickly changed after we weren’t so sure and we were glad we only stayed 2 nights. It was quiet but nit all tunes because there is construction going on and it wasn’t relaxing swimming or relaxing next to hours of loud sounds of hammers for the new villas being built. Also while swimming, one the men was burning a stack of garbage(grass or rice or leaves) right in front of the property and pool so we couldn’t breathe properly and ended up coughing. We brought this to the attention of the management. Also, the room we got Kaya 2 villa had a broken key of the balcony and after checking in we spent a good hour or so dealing with that snd also with the fact that when our room balcony doors were closed there was a huge gap of about 2-3cm left open on both sides where bugs can get it. We brought this to the attention of the staff and they placed two wooden planks to block the open space. Despite that we still had bugs get into the room and bathroom since it is an semi open concept. The bed was comfortable to sleep in, but there is no desk, or proper chair to sit on in the room. There is no Tv, which I didn’t mind but maybe others might. The house next to us blasted loud music for the 2 nights we wre there till midnight so it was hard to sleep. Lots of stairs everywhere. The best thing was the food. Delicious breakfast and wonderful restaurant staff. Eat there, stay elsewhere.

Sehr schöne Zimmer mit tollem Blick vom Balkon. Super Service und sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal. Das Essen hat wunderbar geschmeckt und wir haben die Zeit im Spa ebenfalls sehr genossen. Alles in allem perfekt zum entspannen.

Ich bin schon viel gereist, aber ein so tolles Hotel in einer so fantastischen Lage kenne ich kein zweites. Sideman ist ein ruhiges Bergdorf mit einigen sehr guten Warungs. Das besondere ist jedoch die entspannte und ruhige Lage inmitten von Reisfeldern und mit Blick auf den Mount Agung. Der Service, die Ausstattung der Zimmer wie auch das Essen sind top. Alle Mitarbeitenden sind sehr freundlich und dienstleistungsorientiert. Ich komme wieder.
