Charming Show Low is a town where panoramic views complement great dining, unique shopping and exhilarating outdoor activities.

Enjoy stunning views of the White Mountains as you browse Show Low’s boutique stores, enjoy many great cafés and restaurants and hike in the excellent parks.

Located in the rugged terrain of central Arizona, 6,412 feet (1,954 metres) above sea level, Show Low is a superb location to explore the great outdoors. Head to Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Park on the city’s northern border to hike the trails and fish or kayak in the lakes. During the day watch for raptors soaring overhead and at night watch the starry Arizona skies from your campsite. Explore the surrounding forest by yourself or take one of the regular guided nature walks.

Keen hikers should head further afield to the White Mountain Trail System. Over 25 well-maintained paths weave their way through the fascinating Arizona landscape. For a different way to enjoy the trails, try taking out a mountain bike or riding a horse. Show Low is well connected by bus to many of the nearby towns, so it’s easy to explore more distant trails. Pinetop-Lakeside, 12 miles (19 kilometres) south of Show Low, has one of the world's largest stands of ponderosa pines. In winter, visit one of the most popular ski areas in the western U.S. at the Sunrise Park Resort, located about 34 miles (55 kilometres) south of Show Low.

Golfers can spend their time at two of the finest public golf courses in the state, while families will enjoy the Show Low Museum in town. Find out about the city’s Mormon past and discover how Show Low got its name. Explore the town further and you will find several interesting shops selling unique, locally made goods, as well as cafés and restaurants serving hearty meals for hikers.

If you are planning to camp, be aware that winters in Show Low are cold. Heavy snowfall is common between November and April. At this time of year the landscape becomes a pristine winter wonderland. Show Low Lake Campground is open year-round with campsites available by reservation. For warmer accommodation, stay at one of the hotels in the centre of town.
