Amazing location for Shirakawa Go but away from the crowds up in the mountains the staff are great, food amazing, rooms basic but spotless. The onsen are great and the free guided walk was perfect. The shuttle bus to Shirakawa Go is brilliant, we were able to choose our drop off and pick up times.

Probably one of the best stays of my life. The stag was absolutely amazing, from start to finish. The attention to detail is impeccable, whilst not overwhelming. The room was wonderful, and the dinner and breakfast experiences magic. Overall, for the price of what would be a normal room in Tokyo, you get an outstanding experience. Lots of surprises, such as the massage chairs and public baths (all rooms seem to have a private onsen, ours certainly did. Our room was 4 different rooms (dinning...

Lovely setting, large communal lounge with wood burning stove. No en suite facilities, toilets on galleries off the stairs leading up to bedrooms. Washbasins and bathrooms also on galleries above lounge. Bathrooms are Japanese style with dressing rooms and shower/bathroom next door. Baths are deep double style with jacuzzi type jet circulating water - a great experience after a long day walking around Takayama! Staff were extremely attentive in every respect. Shuttle service on demand to...

The rock pool onsen was excellent and included too.

Really positive experience. Staff were excellent. Never did find the free coffee that was advertised (and would have made things truly perfect) but overall this was a delightful, peaceful stay.

It was an amazing stay. We chose the hotel due to its proximity to the railway station, the japanese occidental set up and the onsen. Our room was clean and spacious, the pijamas were super nice. I went to the female onsen three times and I was on my own. We enjoyed the private onsen only once as there was always a queue. We've also got the breakfast included, it was good with a lot of options to choose.

Wonderful stay

This is essentially a hotel, but with ryokan style rooms. The location is very good, within fairly easy walking distance of the bus and train station, and very easy walking from the centre of town and its lovely streets of old wooden houses. Staff all very polite and helpful and speak adequate English. The room is authentic Japanese, with tatami matts and paper screens, but also equipped with a tiny plastic pod bathroom, TV, and a fridge and kettle hidden behind a screen. A very small...

Easy to find near the station, it has a beautiful vintage feel to the place. Clean room with all amenities near by. Close to the old town with a host of great food options on the doorstep.

amazing host, super warm and caring, the location is great since everything is close and yet it is super quiet
