Lovely clean rooms and very comfortable beds. The shower riser rail needed replacing in one room as we had to hold the showerhead in order to use it. But water was hot and plentiful. Lots of parking available and electric car charge points too. Despite being near the main road the room was very quiet and no traffic noise heard. Staff were helpful although mixup on first morning with who was working so breakfast slightly delayed. 2nd day was much better with decent breakfast (but please don't put black pepper on everything!) Overall a lovely stay and conveniently located for us. We hope to return in the future.

I was not impressed with my stay despite Ethan, the only employee available, doing a stalwart job to help us. There was a problem with heating, water leaks, cold shower, no one to prepare breakfast

The food was very limited, all frozen rubbish. Expedia advertised breakfast, no breakfast included. The rooms were dirty. Ours was obviously over the kitchen as it smelt of dirty cooking fat. You could hear the people talking in the next bedroom. The bed was really small and you rolled into the middle.

Room clean and spacious but, shower cold and bathroom. On arrival told to look at a board regarding breakfast and told breakfast only continental even though not showing on booking that continental only? Breakfast awful pan au chocolate burnt on outside raw inside other guests noticed too. Also lack of dishes spoons for cereal husband used another guest spoon after they had finished! As no staff about. Pile of hot cross buns piled on plate ? No hot water for tea or coffee. Other guests laughing in mutual shock how things were and our table even had burnt pan au chocolate on it which we had to move. Not a good impression will not stay again.

The room was great and very spacious. The young man Ethan who greeted us was very accommodating and apologetic regarding no food on site and that he was the only member of staff on site. The biggest let down was the lack of breakfast. It was sold to us that there would be a cooked breakfast in the price of the room (still advertised as such,) however there was just a few cereals and i had to ask for toast on the second day. There was distinct lack of management to deal with the lack of food and very diminished bar. It was told to us that the chef was away and they were awaiting a delivery on food and drinks . This should have been conveyed to us beforehand so that we could have the choice of changing accommodation that did provided what it advertised. I must stress the young man left in charge went above and beyond with what he had been left with.

On arrival we could not check in due to no Internet connection... Not that big of a place, so why not have written back up.. Only one draught beer. Perfunctory selection of Gin.. Not a lot of choice in liqueur.. No fresh orange. It was a cold evening, 3°C...No heating in the bedroom. This was the night before my husband's operation, we were tired on arrival and by this time we just wanted to go to bed. On my return after dropping my husband at hospital the heating was still not on. On leaving to visit my husband I asked if someone could check the heating, plenty of hot water, just no heat. Young gentleman behind bar said he would look into it... On return, key was given back to me, I asked about heating, was it fixed? No we are going to give you a portable heater???? So not put it in for my return! A shame, staff are pleasant, actual place could be so good, lots of character but lacks the essential everyday needs for customers.

It was limited dining. They offer season veg and gave us peas. And for the price it was expensive. Breakfast was shocking. The toaster didn't work. The bread was moled. There was nothing else to eat. The one staff that was on.said nothing at and just looked at us. He didn’t care. You need to get better staff. The room was ok. sheets were clean. But i won't be staying again.

A lovely large room and bathroom - comfortable bed and large bathroom with both double shower and a bath. Very clean.

The room was clean, however the service was terrible, no clear management, food took 50 min with just 3 table, breakfast “continental” but no option apart from mouldy breaf

The place had literally changed management that day so unfortunately there was no cooked breakfast (only continental) until Sunday when the Chef would be in. Also the dinner menu was changed temporarily because of the sudden change in management. However, the new management and team were amazing in the service provided. Dinner was excellent and there was enough at breakfast for us to be satisfied. Rooms were spotless with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Hot powerful shower with shampoo, shower gel, soap, etc provided. Comfortable bed and pillows. Dog friendly too.

Its a bad review due to the poor staffing circumstances. We booked two nights B&B a few weeks ago. We arrived to be told the hotel had been bought the week before. A manager was down from London to oversee for the weekend. Our room was very nice and we had food on Saturday evening from a very limited menu completely different to the one we were expecting, which was very nice. We got up to a nice breakfast. We had to explain that we were not paying for it as we were staying bed and B&B. There was no breakfast menu, and the lady had started 2 days before. We had to ask for juice which she provided unsure what to do. We went out for the day to a Christmas market and Frome. We returned to the hotel at 6pm completlely closed and in darkness. All staff had left and we were unsure if we were the only one's there. We heard music from one other room so, assumed it was a staff member or another guest? We wanted food, so had tyo leave again to find somewhere. Luckily there was a chip shop down the road. We awoke to no breakfast. No staff. The other room were guests too on the way out. We agreed to leave after them and locked the front door. We posted the keys in a letterbox and left to look for breakfast. All staff had left at 3pm and no more were returning until Wednesday. Why did no one tell us in the morning? I've never had to close up my own hotel after visiting!!

Had a lovely weekend stay here in November, the place is charming and has a lot of character. The room was large, clean , well furnished and there was everything you needed , I also loved the view and that you could look out and see the thatched roof . Check in was easy , all the staff we met over the weekend were very welcoming , friendly and helpful so it made you feel very relaxed. New management had just taken over when we stayed , I was really happy with stay here and would recommend it.

Very welcoming. Room clean. Bed very comfortable. Good parking. Very dog friendly except there is nowhere to walk them. Breakfast disappointing as no hot drink with continental and no offer of more toast. Bathroom clean but somewhat dated.
