Top Seward Hotel Reviews

Spruce Lodge

Spruce Lodge

8/10 Good
"Overall, I would rate this property a 5 out of 5. We stayed in Fireweed, the Chalet. We really enjoyed our stay and thought the property was very nice and comfortable. I did notice a few small things that may be helpful to address for future guests. There were a few areas that could use a little extra attention during cleaning, including the cabinet above the microwave and the cabinet housing the trash bin. We also noticed a few dead gnats and a fly on the kitchen countertops. The upstairs bathroom toilet seat had a small crack, and the entryway light fixtures and bathroom exhaust fans could use some additional dusting. Finally, something must have spilled in the refrigerator because there’s gunk under the shelf glass. We also liked the rustic feel of the property, although the exterior landscaping could benefit from a little additional weeding and trimming. I think a bit of attention in these areas would really help elevate an already great property. These were all relatively minor items and did not detract from our overall experience. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying here again."

"Reasonably priced for the area. Out of the hustle and bustle of town, yet not too far. We had a mouse in our cabin the first night (it is out in the woods, after all), but the staff took care of that with traps the next day. Just a heads up to not leave food out."

"The staff was great. The property smaller and is dated however, the problem is the plumbing is in-need of service. Our bathtub/shower was extremely slow to drain (yuck). You can tell drainage issues have plagued the units as wall access panels were of different colors (we rented 2 rooms). When that issue is corrected, the property will do for a night or two prior to leaving out on either a charter or cruise ship."
