We were attending a wedding in Corinthia nearby and wanted to see Klagenfurt as well. This quirky hotel could not have been a better choice as it is directly opposite The Lindworm in Neuesplatz. The staff are really helpful particularly Karen. The breakfasts are good quality and tasty. The honeycomb is wonderful.
As it is an old building there is no air-conditioning. Some of the artefacts in reception or the corridors are fascinating others can be a little kitsch.

Great hotel with unique exterior decoration. Rooms are large and functional and there is a free car park adjacent to the hotel. Breakfast was very good and only 2 minute walk into main town. Used the hotel so we could attend a concert in Klagenfurt only 15 miles away.

However, all this was forgotten when we received a warm welcome on arrival and were shown our first class room with views of the lake. This is really a summer resort and there are lots of walks available but as it was January and the ground was covered with snow we used the car and only walked on prepared paths. We could imagine that the whole area would be busier in summer as it is a beautiful so...

Our stay at the Gasthof zur Post was all we could have hoped for. The Kramer family and their staff were really friendly and helpful.
