We arrived to the airport late evening and wanted somewhere to rest in Santiago overnight before heading south. This B&B is very well located (lots of restaurants, shopping, and activity nearby), but is on a side street and is surprisingly quiet. The host, Ignacio, was wonderful, and really made us feel at home. The property is a bit old and the lodgings are spartan, but it's very homey and a terrific value for the price.

DECEPCION

La experiencia fue malisima,... primero consultamos por habitacion en primer piso, debido a que soy una persona con movilidad reducida y nos dijeron que no habia problema.. La primera decepcion fue que a duras penas tuve que subir una inmensa escala hasta el segundo píso La verdad es que mas que un hotel es una residencial u hostal, pero de hotel nada. El comedor es pequeñisimo, somos una familia de 4 personas y apenas cabíamos en la unica mesa que existia como comedor en una piesa de 3 x 3. El aviso indica que hay estacionamiento gratis, pero no especifica que no es en el mismo recinto, sino que en otro lugar (si cercano al "Hotel")

A nightmare experience

The room was so small that I had to store my luggage in the shower. The door had a privacy screen in the form of a torn plaid sheet. The mattress was severely lumpy and I was ready to slide off unless I wedged myself against the wall. The window looks out on a battered bamboo screen. There were no hangers, no closet, no drawers, and there was one shelf. I really don’t appreciate spending money and my hard-earned vacation time camped in someone’s half a kitchen listening to them and their friends for hours on end (and if you’re going to do that, at least invite me…). I have stayed at B&Bs in almost 20 countries on 5 continents (including South America) and I don’t feel at all that I came here with unrealistic expectations of what a B&B should be; there needs to be at least some space and appropriation for guests. The house is about 1400 square feet for three family members, their cook, and six guest rooms, which gives you an idea of what it’s like. The guests are mostly family friends, including the Swiss guy that the B&B owner took to the airport to meet me for $30 ride to the B&B (by the way, offering a free bottle of wine upon arrival does not distract from the fact that the charged ride is almost double what an authorized airport taxi would cost). In other words, the B&B family has lots of friends coming and going who are “guests,” and fill in the odd “room” here and there with ordinary travelers like me expecting professional accommodation.

Good little place.

We enjoyed our stay at this b&b. The place was cute and tidy and the location was wonderful on a quiet little street in providencia. Our room was upstairs and in the gables of the building so you couldn't stand in all of it which made it feel a little cramped and hard to get out of bed on one side. Everything was very clean, the bathroom spotless and service was very accommodating! Yea and coffee on arrival and helpful as they called our last hotel out of town to request they look for my cell phone. Limited english spoken which was Not a problem for us with my limited Spanish.

Ótimo staff, mas a estrutura não é muito boa.

O hotel é uma casa antiga onde todo o piso faz muito barulho. O banheiro é super simples e achei a banheira perigosa e escorregadia. E não tinha onde se segurar. O pessoal que trabalha lá é super educado e prestativo. Adoramos todos. O café da manhã é simples, mas gostoso. É preciso pensar para que tipo de pessoa poderia indicar esse estabelecimento. Para mim no final das contas valeu a pena, mas muitos amigos não gostariam de lá.

Never felt more at home!

I could start with how many restaurants are nearby, how close it is to a Metro station, how reasonable the price...all of those are true, but the main thing to say is that Ignacio, Yami, Claudia and Carla made us feel so much welcomed that each day returning from to Providencia felt like coming home. We've never felt quite that way anywhere else. Along with their friendliness and helpfulness, we also had the opportunity to meet and talk with a wide variety of other guests from the U.S., Brazil, Argentina, various parts of Europe and even Australia.

Vi spenderade en natt på detta prisvärda B&B. Supertrevligt mottagande och varm service. Rummen är små men mysiga. Läget är superbra med promenadavstånd till det mesta. Nära till tunnelbanan (som i sig är väldigt bra för att ta sig runt Santiago). Vi var väldigt nöjda med vår natt hos Ignasio och hans personal. Väl värt ett besök då det står sig bättre än många av hotellen runt i Santiago som ofta tar 2 eller 3 gånger så mycket för en natt. Tips!

Friendly awesome service

The people and service was great. People were most helpful, polite and friendly. However the rooms upstairs were too warm and bright. It was like being in a sauna or solarium. Otherwise my stay was fantastic

Old Providencia

The Provodencia is a classic home in a neighborhood of old old homes, well over 100 years I would guess. The rooms are compact and close. The floors must be the original wood and sound accordingly (you cannot oversleep). There is a good market nearby. Fluency in Spanish will help a lot. Breakfast is spartan; Marie Osmond would be proud of me.

Good location. Near restaurants and bars but the street was very quiet which was nice. Could hear other guests at times but generally quiet. Price was great. Ignacio was a great host, very charming. His daughter picked us up from the airport and gave us great service as well.

Não me senti muito a vontade durante a minha estadia. Cheguei de madrugada e sai de madrugada também, senti que estava incomodando devido ao horário dos meus vôos. Esse Hostel não podemos nem conversar muito durante a noite, dentro do nosso próprio quarto. Sinceramente, prefiro muito mais um hotel, pois temos mais liberdade de ir e vir.

Hospedagem aconchegante e bem localizada.

Escolhi a hospedagem porque diante de tantas ofertas pela internet era a segunda mais barata com as características que procurava e a única que não tinha reclamações, diferente da mais barata. Para não dizer que não haviam reclamações, algumas pessoas falavam sobre o chão de madeira e respectivo barulho. Bem, verifiquei que o proprietário colocou alguns tapetes para minimizar tal situação. Particularmente, isso não foi problema. Ademais, me surpreendi com o café da manhã. Sempre dizem que o café no Chile é sempre bem simples, com poucas variedades, mas o nosso café foi bastante farto e delicioso.

オーナーのイグナシオがとても親切。夜遅く到着したが、お茶を出してくれたり、滞在中も色々と気を使ってくれたり、とても親切だった。朝食は他の宿泊者と同じテーブルで食事をするが、皆おしゃべりをしながら楽しく過ごせた。B&Bならではのアットホーム的な雰囲気でした。
