Amazing staff. Great location. The pool bar/restaurant has a great vibe. Love the breakfast Beds are small and need to upgrade to fitted sheets. We woke in a bare mattress. Ownership need to improve the rooms.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn other travelers. Hotel Portobello is advertised as a 4-star property, but based on my experience, it felt closer to a 1-star hotel. The facilities are outdated and in serious need of renovation. The rooms and common areas look worn down and poorly maintained, nothing like the photos shown online. The overall condition of the property does not reflect a 4-star standard in any way. For the very high price we paid, we expected comfort, quality, and a well-maintained environment — instead, we were extremely disappointed. The value for money is simply not there. This hotel is significantly overpriced for what it offers. A 4-star rating suggests a certain level of quality, service, and upkeep, and unfortunately, this property does not deliver that experience. The only positive part of our stay was the housekeeping service. The maid did a good job keeping our room clean and making the bed, and we truly appreciated her effort. However, that was the only highlight. Overall, this was not a 4-star experience, and I would not recommend it at the price they charge. Travelers should carefully manage their expectations before booking.

It was canny like.

The hotel was clean if a little tired. The staff were great. All very friendly and welcoming, we enjoyed an evening at the pool bar which was lively. Salvador is a great place and this hotel provides a Great base to explore it. Only a short walk to the beach or a stroll to the light house or a quick taxi in to town. PS if your a bit on the large size like myself it’s a bit of a squeeze getting through the shower door.

O hotel é bem localizado, mas a vista pro mar é parcial, pois tem um empreendimento a frente que acaba tampando. O hotel deixou um pouco a desejar na estrutura. No quarto em que fiquei, o ar condicionado era barulhento, banheiro pequeno e a descarga nao funcionava corretamente. Café da manhã simples, mas suficiente. Achei as diárias um pouco caras pro que o hotel oferece de fato.
