"We enjoyed our week stay at the Salida Monarch! It’s not the fanciest place, but as an older motel it’s in good repair. There has been remodeling, upgrades and cosmetic repairs, overall it’s a lovely little place to stay. The location is good, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious, the linens and towels are better than a lot we’ve experienced. There are regular rooms and then a few little cottages providing more space if needed. It was quiet without noise from other rooms affecting your sleep. The owners also manage and run it themselves and provide friendly and helpful service above and beyond most places we’ve traveled. They are what makes this little gem a great place to stay, and I’ve already recommended it to friends."
