Vincenzo and his sister are fantastic hosts accommodating check in times. Barone B&B provides a traditional Italian environment just a short walk from the historic centre of Salerno. Views over the harbour are an added bonus
We loved our stay at thd Barone B and B . Vincent was extremely helpful when we arrived, and during our stay. The room was super comfortable and spacious. The location was excellent, near ferries, old town and beach . A good walk to station but doable and enjoyable through old town lanes which were fascinating.
Great communication with the host. The room was very spacious and had a lovely view of the port. Was a bit further away from the station but was less than a 10 euro taxi ride and it was a very easy walk to the Cathedral/ Duomo. The host was really nice and pre-booked a taxi for my husband and I since we had to go to the port.

Super Handy
Bnb Barone has been a great choice.
It is close to the sea promenade and to many amenities including restaurants, pharmacy and hairdresser. The owner, Enzo is super helpful and provided required info to move around the city. Water is available at a small fee (which is super handy) and room has efficient Air conditioning system. Great choice. Room is spacious and very well litten. Cleaning is impeccable. The building is very impressive.
Historic building and on the 5th floor so a great view over harbour or town, both very attractive . The hosts are very friendly and the place is spotless. Coffee and croisant for breakfast and we were off to explore this interesting city. An idea stop on the way to amalfi coast .

Old world building quiet well located in Salerno. Room was spacious with a nice outlook over the harbour. Whilst most rooms have an ensuite bathroom, I mistakenly booked a room with an external bathroom. The owner was helpful in recommending restaurants around town. Surprised that breakfast was not included.

Struttura gestita in modo eccellente. A ridosso del centro storico, il b&b ha una vista superba sul golfo di salerno. Pulitissima e dotata di tutti confort.
Proprietari deliziosi molto attenti ai bisogni dei clienti. La consiglio vivamente
Our stay at Barone B&B was amazing, Vincenzo was an amazing host, very nice, helpful and provided information (and history) of Salerno and its surroundings.

Disliked: Staff & service
Our stay was fine but as this was the only location that did not offer is our breakfast as we paid for. We were denied even sitting at the kitchen table in the morning to have our coffee that we purchased. We also asked for a napkin and we told no. The morning lady was extremely rude and was not polite there excuse was COVID restrictions Scolded us even for using the lift and always had something to say. Very disappointed.
Barone B&B is the perfect stay just off the Amalfi Coast. It is a 5 minute walk from the Centro Storico and seafront of Salerno! Outside the front door of the property is a bus stop should you wish to travel to the towns of the Amalfi coast towns (Positano/Amalfi/Sorrento etc). Enzo is the perfect host and amenable with check in times within reason...the rooms are spotlessly clean and beds very comfy!
Just far enough from the center of town for it to be peaceful, but close enough to walk anywhere.

A nice, clean convenient place to stay
This is a nice place to stay to explore Salerno and surrounding areas. It is conveniently located by the port, where you can catch a boat to Capri or Positano. There are lots of restaurants within a short walk. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. It is best to communicate with them ahead of time to coordinate your arrival time and check-in.
The room was spacious and clean.
It isn't a 5 star hotel, but we didn't want that...so this place was perfect for us. I would recommend it.
This hotel has character from the outside to the old style lift going up to the 5th floor, rooms are very comfortable and clean. The view is amazing looking over the harbour, watching the pleasure, fishing boats, cruise and container ships. Enzo was amazing with his knowledge of restaurants, tours to take, how to get to places he would print out timetables, maps and even write down directions on how to get to places. He even helped us with sending packages back home ( too many souvenirs ). Antonella was great at breakfast for a chat ( helps having Italian background ) . Highly recommend staying at the Barone Bed & Breakfast.
This was an amazing place, in an historic building close to everything with an incredible view of the port. The beds were so comfortable, with lots of pillows and lovely cotton bedding, everything was clean and lovely. Breakfast was nice, cappucino, juice and croissants and cereal or toast if that didn't fill you up. The 100 year old elevator was a trip! Excellent value for money and the owners are some of the nicest people we met in Italy. We would love to come back for a longer stay.
