Hotel Ruby Ponderay/Sandpoint
6/10 Okay
"The rooms are nice & clean. Hotel property is kept very clean & looks nice. The breakfast went from a 10 star back in November 2025 to a 2 star now. The only actual hot option was a waffle. There was a prepackaged breakfast sandwich I had to heat up in the microwave - no thank you. The staff when we checked in were pleasant but did not go out of their way. The staff in the morning - cleaning staff was pleasant & helpful, desk staff were not very pleasant & did not appreciate when I voiced my opinion about the breakfast. I understand circumstances have changed but the hotel needs to pick it up and do better where the breakfast is concerned.
The pool area is great & the fire pits outside are very nice."
"Made a request via email and phone to have the fragrances products removed from our room before our stay. Assured it oils be done but wasn’t. Seems like a small ask "
"This was our second time staying here. The first time we stayed in a hot tub suite and the beds were MUCH more comfortable than our double queen room. The beds in the double queen were pretty bad. The property is nice, pool is great, love that it's walking distance to everything downtown. Will definitely stay again while passing through."
"The room was impeccably clean.
The Staff was eager to accommodate.
Check in was easy, and within walking distance to a convenience store (Saverite) across Hwy 2, Copper Mountain coffee stand (same side of the Hwy as the Sandman across from Saverite), and Rosauers supermarket approximately 2 blocks east of the Sandman on Hwy 2.
I, and my Family stayed at another unnamed motel in Libby May 8th and it was no place I'll ever book again. I booked the Sandman for May 9th, and it was a night and day difference with the Sandman delivering everything necessary to finish up a Mother's day weekend full of Cabinet Mountain splendor."
"I highly suggest if you stay when the restaurant is closed walk across the street to the Antler’s for breakfast or the Switchback for lunch or dinner! Also no coffee or water cups available in rooms. If you want coffee you have to go to the lobby but if it’s before 6 am it’s cold and old. The pool and the hot tub were the best part of our trip. My son has autism and has irregular hours so coffee availability would be great!"
