The location is great, beds were comfy and it was very clean. There is another hostel in the same building so make sure you find the right door for Baron's.
Designated parking area for the hostel. Very walkable to the downtown area. They made sure I had all the information I needed to check-in during their off hours so I wouldn't be locked out. Wonderful place to stay.
Considering Baron’s is a hostel, my teen and I felt safe and comfortable during our 2 night stay. The hostel was clean and offered us everything we needed. The location is fantastic. Parking is free. We went to the affordable pool / hot tubs next door and loved them.
Kitchen and dining area good and clean. Staff very approachable and willing to help. Location is very near to grocery stores Bonus and Extra. Also, very near Hallgrimskirkja.
My first stay here. Have been many other places in Reykjavik and this was quite nice for the price. Convenient to BSI and the shopping/eating areas. Next to a pool. Close to the top of reykjavik with good views.

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
Staffs are friendly and helpful; kitchen is convenient. But rooms’ doors make so much noise that I can’t sleep in the night
First experience with a hostel. I had a single room which was nice. Fairly quiet-was next to the elevator so did have some noise from that. Kitchen area had a great view. People respectful. Easy walk to bus stop 8.
This is a good option to stay in town. Everything else is very expensive. The place has a share kitchen and dinning room area which helps saving money on food if you are willing to prepare your own food since restaurants are very expensive in the area. Bathroom and showers are clean as well as beds. 3 blocks away from the main street in town. Safe and quiet at night. Overall, a good option. Thank you!
Excellent hostel! Really convenient location in Reykjavik. Super close from Hallgrimskirkja (church). The room was clean and spacious. Every person had plenty of outlet, which was great for us with multiple devices that need nightly charging. The room got a lot of evening sun (June), so we needed to keep the window open to stay cool throughout the night. The shower rooms were conveniently located, and were available pretty much anytime we needed to use them. The kitchen had a fairly spacious dining area, but there's only one sink, so we needed to wait for our turn to do the dishes. Three fridges to keep our food refrigerated, but they were always pretty full (we found just enough space to put our food in).
The code to enter the building was sent in a timely manner, so the check-in went very smoothly. Other guests were considerate, and we didn't have any issues with noises at night. (We stayed for 2 nights.)

Location is excellent thats why i stayed there for the 2nd time. But this time my experince was terrible. Lot of people..bathrooms were nasty, not really clean, rarely will find any stuff member. If you reprot to any issue they dont care. My phone charger and some small items went missing as housekeeping took them. I had a buy all these items which cost me extra money and nothing is cheap in Iceland.
As a solo traveler for a week in Iceland, I really felt safe at Barons hostel! There were plenty of showers and bathrooms that were always kept spotless, everyone was respectful of shared spaces and nighttime was so quiet by 9pm on everyday! Within walking distance to tour bus stops, rainbow street and plenty of places to eat or get groceries. Don’t forget to check out the public pools next door! I only wish that people maybe didn’t camp out in the kitchen during busy meal times, sometimes there wasn’t a space to eat while others worked on computers or just socialized. Otherwise absolutely fantastic stay and I highly recommend!
Very well located (right next to a geothermal swimming facility and downhill from the Hallgrimskirkja). Only issue was not a big one. My flight got in very early (before ataff was there) so was not sure if I could leave my bags in the office before check in (yes, you may!) Overall I would definitely recommend it.
Got upgraded from a room with bunk beds to single-beds. The room was roomy and not crowded, toilets looked like straight out of a hotel. Bedding and towels were provided, and so nice and cozy. Huge kitchen/common room with large windows and a beautiful view. Not too lively, altough my room was by the elevator is got quiet around midnight. Easy check out, which I enjoyed since I left at 3am - just leave the towel on the bed, grab tour things and go. Overall satisfyed with my stay.
