Funny that door locks work differently here from what we are used to in rest of the world or atleast that was my opinion ( no offense ). hope someone agrees with me on this :-). We reached Aurora Igloo after completing Golden Circle, it was late and sort of close to 9:30 PM and it was chilly and windy. Fetched the key from the lock box but opening the door was a nightmare. It took us about approx 30 mins to open the door. When we called the number for help while still struggling to unlock, they said they have no one to come to help. perhaps, it was already too late by then. Thank heavens we managed to unlock otherwise we would have ended up sleeping in the car. Apart from this, rest of the stay was nice. Place was clean though compact. Visiting Iceland is like an out of this world experience, in that Aurora Igloo is an icing on the cake. Whole of my family fell in love with this place and stay here.

This was such a great experience. I hardly recommend it. But get the igloos that have the private bathroom. Also, it’s impossible to unlock the door or lock the door without seeing a video of how to do it. Ask the hotel for this video before you get there. All the guests were coming to ask other guests how to get into their igloo because it was so confusing.

Aurora igloo was an amazing experience. It was so quiet, the scenery was serene and one had plenty of privacy. The bed was comfortable with fluffy down comforters and a mattress warmer. The location is a short distance from landmarks like glaciers, puffins and waterfalls. A few restaurants, gas station and grocery stores are also a short drive nearby. Just up the street is Hella Caves, which was a unique tour here.

Unique stay experience. Our kids were totally charmed. The downside is that the igloos function like greenhouses so it was very hot in the day and afternoon. They do have air conditioning, which helps. But still very hot.

What a unique place to stay! We look for creative venues to stay in our travels and this fit the description. The sheep wandering by our igloo and the cows and/or horses in the distance added to the ambiance. We didn’t get lucky enough to see Northern Lites, but boy what an opportunity that would be to lay in bed and see these from your igloo! Very comfortable. Plenty warm with heated mattress pads and floors. Room was very hot upon arrival due to being heated by the sun in the day but cooled off rather quickly. The door opening and lock system does leave something to be desired though. We checked out the Aegissidufoss Falls down the road from the igloo. We also walked the Hella River Walk Trail. Very near the Caves of Hella and American Bus Cafe. Food options very convenient. Seljalandsfoss Falls approx 30 min away so could over nite location for exploring that and the Skogafoss falls another 20-30 min past that.

This was an amazing experience, even in the height of summer! It was the best place we stayed in during our trip! It was very clean, comfortable, and had such good attention to detail (included eye masks, ear plugs - though that was unnecessary since it was very quiet, and a nice note on where to get breakfast). The igloo was warm when we arrived because it was such a sunny day, but opening the vents made it a comfortable temperature in no time. During the night it did get cooler, and the heater was necessary. They also had heated mattress pads, which we didn't need, but I can see being great in the colder months. The private igloo is definitely the way to go, though with it's own bathroom and shower. We were very comfortable the whole time there and will be recommending it to everyone!

It is a place like no other. Very cool concept and off grid but close to nearby town location. Few Icelandic attractions 30 minutes away. Waterfalls and DC3 wreckage. Very clean and well organized amenities. Nice showers, hot water, espresso-coffee machine to start the day with your favorite one. Igloos are fantastic, comfortable bed and fresh, crisp white bed linen. With the right weather seeing northern lights would be magical. Self checkin and checkout and very responsive, english speaking staff if you had any questions.. Absolutely recommend for tourists looking for something different from a typical hotel..

Such a great unique experience. We got the igloo with the private bathroom which was worth every penny. We could lay in bed and watch the Icelandic ponies graze in the pasture behind. Each unit was very private with curtains to pull around for extra privacy. We were there on a hot day but the evening was cool so our unit was comfortable to sleep and the sleep mask provided helped with the sun. Recommend!

The view and the space are amazing, but they forgot to provide us towel. They have AC and heater so the guests can adjust the temperature.

The igloo itself was cozy, warm, and beautifully designed with panoramic glass walls that made stargazing and watching the Northern Lights absolutely breathtaking. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The amenities were top-notch, and we appreciated the little touches — from the local snacks provided to the thoughtful guide on when to expect peak aurora activity. This was one of the most unique and awe-inspiring travel experiences we’ve ever had. Firstly, the service room does not have a direction noted at the entrance to the poperty. The confirmation letter has a aerial photogragh however the view is not from the entrance. A highlighted road would be nice. The picture on Expedia depicts a unit with and attached shower and toilet. What I rented was just a bedroom dome. It was an experience. A very cold night with multiple restroom stops will not make you a happy camper. The igloo is like glamping. The service room offers toilets, showers, towels and specialty coffee machine. The internet has a choice of standard or 5G. There is no back up generator. We lost area wide power for a few hours after midnight. The igloo got extremely cold. The sleepless night caused a big rift in out activities for the next day. We called the provided number to ask how to find the service room to pick up our key three times. We called when the power went out. The calls were answered. There is no onsite personnel. Cleaning occurs in the morning. If towels run out in the evening you my be out of luck for a shower.
